Just a little while ago, MSP were chasing one of these vehicles. These 2 cars (White Expedition v/s silver BMW) wrecked at Rt. 50 & Seahawk Rd. in Berlin. MSP found a loaded handgun in the BMW. There is 1 feared dead so far. The medic helicopter landed behind Stephen Decatur Middle School, but left without a patient. The vehicles are still there for reconstruction, so it's advised to try alternate routes. More details to come...

Here we go, another death before midnight, such a rotten shame.
Sunny, Trooper 4 transported a patient to PRMC from the high school. My question is why did it take over an hour to get the patient to the hospital by helicopter when it is only 20 minutes by ground? The patient from the helicopter arrived at PRMC at 9:23 pm.
God bless the family's that have to live through this mess. What a horrible way to start the New Year. Phluff70
Saw this after it happened! Looked horrible. Thoughts and prayers to the victims and families.
It was the Berlin Police that chased the vehicle. MSP handled the accident investigation.
The patient required extrication from the vehicle which will delay the Trooper 4.
Knowledge is power.
Listening to the scanner they said they were going to land the helicopter at the Salvation Army. They also said there was no paitent on the helicopter so I'm confused. I guess the winds were to strong to land on top of PRMC?
The BMW still has temp tags. Probably some little gangster wannabe driving it. If they killed someone then they deserve death before the firing squad.
That guy from Allen FD must have been hired by Berlin FD and requested another medavac
How long did the extracation take? Trooper 4 from the hanger would have taken 20 minutes? Im not Monday morning quarterbacking just curious.
10:11 Yeah the ones after midnight are so much better. a.p.
Helicopter? In THAT WIND?
I'd rather be in ground transport.
Things were blowing around from county to county.

LMAO
The volunteer Farmin actually requested 2 helicopters and waited til the one go to scene and cancelled it a second time. This medivac was Trooper 6 with an ETA of 25 minutes. I guess the volunteer Farmin didn't take the mandatory protocol class from MIEMSS concerning the Medivacs. Worcester County needs some oversight when regulating who has authority on the emergency scenes. How many people have to die before the County Council gets their act together.

Not one helicopter but two helicopters. And then they had the audacity to cancel the one that traveled the farthest.
Can someone tell us who the cowboy from Berlin FD pretending to be a commanding officer was?
Hello! Why didn't this person stop when the Officers were trying to stop them? Good question and now I am sure they are asking themselves the same thing. It is stupid not to stop and risk a ticket or arrest then to kill yourself or another person. Yes sorry to the families but not the creep who made the poor choice.
And nobody was dead.
5 of the Salisbury based crew members have extensive experience in the Coast Guard and I know at least one spent most of his service flying in Alaska. Wind can be a factor but, these folks are "rescue" professionals!

So what's your point?
Ok who was the clown in charge of this event?
I am more p*ssed at all these idiots, like the Beamer driver, who think the highways are a live version of the Grand Theft Auto videogame. We drove up to Salisbury today and you would not believe the maniacs on Route 13 tailgating and blowing past people at 80 or so....We were doing 65 and one jerk got so close up on us(less than a foot) we could not see anything but his grill.Had my child not been with me,I would have tapped the brakes.Frickin idiots.....And they all had out of state tags

I will bet a dollar to a donut you were in the fast lane as well. The fast lane is for passing and you obviously weren't allowing anyone to pass. It doesn't matter if you were doing 65 or 75, just move over. Slower traffic needs to stay in the right lane and allow others the right to pass.
i was at thestop light when i saw lights just fly bye and as soon as i saw them i heard the loudest noise ever and all i can remember is peices of the suv flying at my boyfriends truck and a little Girl laying on the road right in front of us and she stood up and looked at us and right beside us was her father just laying in the turn lane the little girl ran over to the father and screamed wake up dad your ok your ok! me and my boyfriend have never witnessed anything like that in our lives and he is a firefighter its like you see it coming and theres absoltely nothing you can do so that put a end to our supposed to be fun n great new years eve!! i pray for the family its crazy how people die after being hit at 60 miles per hour 108 mph how do you survive that? that just goes to show god was in that situation and it just wasnt there time and hope to god that the navy boys get what they deserve in the navy or not it was WRONG!!
I can't believe how some of you are giving the fire department such a hard time! It's like the police you only like them when you need them. Shame on you. Regardless of what some of you may think MARYLAND fire fighter, Emt's and medics ALL recieve the same training. How do you have any grounds to say anything when you don't know what happened you were not there. Everyone lived out of that crash and are do to recover with no long terms medical problems. That should be what important not picking apart the firefighters/medics that VOLUNTEER their time to save lives! Yes Berlin has paid medics but all the other firefighters that showed up were volunteers there to help and do the best they can! Maybe you should take that into condsideration before you pick them apart. Or maybe if you ever come to Worcester county do get sick or injured because guess who will be coming to your rescue....
