This morning I was reading The Daily Times online because I refuse to pay for their paper. The first story I read was an article in regards to the fatal accident involving a mother and her 4 young children. The two vehicles in the accident burst into flames, a total of six people perished. I'd like to think when a news organization submits a story for publication that the editor would take into consideration how the family and friends of the victims would feel.
In the article they had a comment stated by a bystander of the accident, I'm quoting what he said; "I basically hung out and watched them burn."
Why on Earth would The Daily Times feel the need to publish such a comment? That comment was published with total disregard to the family of the victims. That comment is uncalled for and should have never been published.

Editors Note:
My guess is that the Daily Slime is doing anything they can to change more towards a Blog than an old school newspaper. However, they don't know how to do it and it will be a trial and error period until things get somewhat better. No one like change and IMHO I believe they'll fold. Times will tell. That's a sad story though.

Check the fine print: The story came from the News Journal, not the DT.
The New Journal is the sister paper of The Daily Times, both are Gannett News Papers, Daily Times Publishes the same articles.
Either way it's on delmarvanow.com and that's the Daily Times' own website.
The article should have never been published with that comment.
The Daily Times and the News Journal (Gannett) has published the article with the disgraceful statement.
You're disgraceful. Stop whining. Sometimes the news isn't all happiness and sunshine, wildlife photos or people clutching the setting sun. Get over it. Life is unfair. The quote was solid and described the situation.
lol I really CANT believe the two people defending the Times. It's an awful article and an awful quote. A more appropriate article would read "6 die in fiery auto crash" - it's concise and accurate while still having a touch of sensationalism, and it doesn't mention some dude watching other's friends and family burn to death.
I agree; such a cold, heartless comment is unworthy of being repeated.
