Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On November 5, 2008 at approximately 3:54 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the area of E. Church St. and Anne St. for the report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, investigation revealed that one of the vehicles, operated by suspect # 1, intentionally struck the second vehicle during a domestic situation. Witnesses advised that suspect # 1 became upset at an occupant of the second vehicle and threatened the occupant. As the occupant attempted to leave the area with friends, suspect # 1 chased the vehicle and struck it. The driver of the second vehicle, suspect # 2, was found to be driving the vehicle without a license.

ARREST #1: Paul Kelly Dyson, 35 years of age Laurel, Delaware

First degree assault
Second degree assault
Reckless endangerment

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

ARREST #2: April Christina Figgs, 24 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: Driving a motor vehicle without a license

DISPOSITION: Released after signing citation

On November 5, 2008 at approximately 4:36 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the Boscov’s Department Store at the Centre at Salisbury for the report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival, the officers were advised that security personnel had observed the below listed suspect attempt to take clothing from the store without making payment. The clothing was recovered and returned to the store.

On November 6, 2008 at approximately 10:10 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the area of John Street for the report of an assault and robbery. Upon arrival, officers met with a witness, and the victim, and learned that the victim had been assaulted by four (4) unknown suspects, then robbed of his wallet and change. The victim, a Hispanic male, advised that while walking on Carrolton Avenue, the suspects approached him and forced him into the backyard of a residence. The suspects then struck the victim in the head and body causing the victim to fall. Once down, the suspects took the victim’s wallet and change from his pocket and fled the area on foot. The officers obtained a physical and clothing description of the suspects from the victim and attempted to locate the suspects.

A short time period after the initial report of the incident, Officers located the suspects on South Park Drive at Memorial Parkway. The suspects were positively identified as the individuals involved in the robbery and taken into custody. A portion of the victim’s stolen property was recovered from the suspects.

On November 6, 2008 at approximately 6:36 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Walmart Department Store for the report of a shoplifter who had assaulted a Walmart employee. Upon arrival, officers were advised by security personnel that personnel had observed the below listed suspect take electronic merchandise from the store without making payment. When confronted, by security, the suspect fled from the store into the garden area of the store. The suspect then retrieved a pair of scissors to cut a tarp to aid his escape. As security caught up with the suspect, the suspect struggled with the employee and cut the employee on the hand with the scissors. The suspect was taken into custody, and the victim was transported to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released.

Lol April Figgs just got arrested in the Wicomico County press release for theft of a motor vehicle.

and she was arrested for prostitution a little over a year ago in MD, a little longer ago in GA, and has outstanding charges in DE...
