What Now?

"Joe,

An inquiry for some of your more zealous right-wing readers:

It is being reported by Newsweek’s Howard Fineman that (according to inside sources) there is the very real possibility that Colin Powell will endorse Barack Obama on tomorrow’s “Meet The Press.” I understand that a large portion of your readers will immediately dismiss the notion purely because it comes from a “leftist-propaganda-anti American” magazine, but the reports have been circulating for some time, and Fineman seems to believe that the possibility is very real. At the very least, if he does not come out and publicity endorse Obama, he will not endorse McCain.

My question, based on the framework established by your readers is this: If the Obama endorsement happens, does this make Powell a RINO, and then subject to the same level of ridicule from your side as all the other identified RINOs?

Just curious."

Hey 1:49- Do you suppose Colin Powell would support Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson?

You sir are a moron!

I would expect Colin Powell to have a cabinet seat in an Obama Presidency.

1:49...there's a typical response.

Couldn't POSSIBLY because Colin Powell, a leader and man of integrity who was willing to admit the mistakes by himself and the Bush Administration WHILE he was still IN it, has a FRIGGIN CONSCIENCE AND INTELLIGENCE and sees McCain the Opportunist as just more of the same?

Naw, couldn't be that. Has to be the race thing. After all every single white voter for Obama is voting for him because he's half white.

Congrats, Joe. You've attracted every narrow-minded idiot there is.

I have heard Powell has already endorced Obama. Of course I heard that on the network news and they aren't always right.

As far as blacks voting for Obama just because he's black may be trumped by more people that will not vote for him because he is black and that is also sad.

You know, I don't think it matters who wins, we are in deep shit and I really don't care for either candidate. I will vote. The next four years may seem like a decade, actually that's a plus getting older, time fly's by fast enough as it is.....

Let's try 4 years with no President or Congress or Senate!!
My guess is we would all be better off in 2012. KN

If you want to be like Europe, where normal unemployment is double digits, only the criminals have guns, and like Norway who has 70% out of wedlock birthrates (from welfare state government), vote Obama. If you want a chance, and only a chance, of returning to a capitalist republic vote McCain. Obama is the road of no return. Ben Franklin said 1. "Only a moral and virtuous people are capable of freedom; the more corrupt and vicious a society becomes, the more it has need of masters." and more importantly 2. "When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.".

Powell wants Obama to be the first black president so he can be the second. He would already be running if not for all the death threats he received.

He is a great man, a great leader and would make a great president. I'll bet he is our next sec of state. I would vote for him 1000 times more than no experience on anything Obama.

I have heard countless right-wingers say:

"I'm not racist! I would vote for Colin Powell for President."

Well, Powell did the next best thing and endorsed someone for President, and now I see all of you throwing him under the bus.

"Halfrican American"
"Colon Plow"

You would be funny if you weren't so sickeningly hateful.

Bigoted trash.
