HAPPY BIRTHDAY US NAVY

Today is the birthday for the US Navy. I personally served 9 years in the Navy and spent 4 years on the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71. I an a veteran of Desert Storm, as well as many other campaigns.

Have you served in the Navy? Do you have any family or friends that served in the Navy? If so, call them and wish them a happy birthday. Let them know that you are thinking of them and appreciate the sacrifices that them and their families went through to give us all an opportunity to sleep peacefully at night.

We as Marylanders have a very special academy located in our state, the US Naval Academy located in our state capitol of Annapolis. It is a wonderful place to visit. I would also like to welcome all Navy veterans, and spouses, sons or daughters of veterans to go to your local American Legion and help celebrate your services' birthday. While your there, sharing the camaraderie of other sailors, join that Legion and know you always have a friend close by to help you with anything you need. God Bless all of my fellow sailors and may God Bless all of our troops all over the world.

My father was a 1st class blacksmith serving in the 67th CB's on the island of Tinnian during WW2. My brother was an aviation mechanic serving in the Azores in 1957. I'm very proud of my family's support of the military, we have family members in all branches of service. To serve is the only thing you can do for your country.
