SPD Pressured Into A Select Few Press Releases

On October 21, 2008 at approximately 12:15 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic violations in the area of Naylor Mill Road and Zion Road. Upon making the stop, the officers noted suspicious activity within the vehicle. The officers made a request for a Controlled Dangerous Substance K-9 to respond to check the vehicle, and a K-9 responded from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office. The K-9 scan yielded a positive result, and a check of the vehicle revealed a baggie with suspected cocaine and a suspected marijuana cigar. The items were found in close proximity to the below listed suspect, who was a passenger in the vehicle.

ARRESTED: Justin Jamal King, 18 years of age New Church, Virginia

CHARGES:
Possession of cocaine
Possession of marijuana
Possession of cds/paraphernalia

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200800039306

On October 22, 2008 at approximately 3:44 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department arrested the below listed suspect on an arrest warrant charging the suspect with theft charges. It was reported to the Salisbury Police in September of 2008 that a suspect had passed a number of bad checks at a local business. The investigation identified the below listed suspect as responsible for producing and passing the bad checks.

ARRESTED: John Price Phillips, Jr., 29 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES:
Theft (under $ 500) (2 counts)
Theft scheme (under $ 500)

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200800036318

Duh, do these people know the difference between a cigar and a cigarette? I don't know what the spd is smoking or maybe they watch too much cheech and chong.
