That "plan" is completely ridiculous, even if the City had the money to waste on it.

In essence she is saying screw all of you business owners on Mill St we're going to come in and tell you how its going to be, like it or not. Why does God let people like her live?

Yes, and guess what? We paid for a consultant study to develop this plan. And what that means is they were not from here and could care less about how this will effect our taxes in Salisbury. They got their pay and are out of here, now we have to pay for this foolishness. April can't come around soon enough for me! Oh, also, I wonder if such a plan would be done if the mayor moved to the South part of the river?

It looks like that big new "River Place" condo on Riverside Drive (across the ditch from Brew River) has now sold 5 units. If so only 37 are left, so don't wait much longer (say 5 years) or there will be none left and you might wind up in the one that's part built and now stopped on Fitzwater Street.

Promoting more development on the North Prong with City funds is absurd.

That mayor should be packing her bags and moving out of town just as quick as she can have her maid pack for her. That bitch should move out of the country and never look back. If ever there was someone to hate, she is the one.

Have any of you who have posted here actually read the consultant's report? If you had, you'd know that, among its recommendations, are to: re-zone again to put to rest the urban legend that businesses will be forced out; to have Farmer's and Planters anchor the area, as always; to seek GRANT funding to address the environmental and aesthetic challenges of the area. You'd have also learned that the landowners from the area attended a meeting, as part of the report. The vast majority of them said they they own the land for investment purposes. And they are interested in the re-development of the area, at some point. Of course, we could just do nothing as a community - and continue to enjoy the beauty and success of the whole North Prong area. Goodness knows, this town wouldn't want to do anything to improve itself. Let's just keep complaining about all that's wrong with the city. That'll get us far. READ the report!! Then, if you wish to criticize, at least you're doing from an informed perspective.

It's even worse than you suggest -- that particular consultant was selected because of its "record" for recommending upscale growth of the kind that won't work here.

This is another asinine Barrie Tilhghman-Urban Salisbury-Greater Salisbury Committee boondoogle that will no doubt be supported by SWED and the Chamber of Commerce, too.

Here we go, again!

WHEREAS, Salisbury needs to get rid of Barrie and it can't happen quick enough.

What in the world are the Mayor and Council thinking?
To even CONSIDER spending money that they do not have at this uncertain economic time is absolutely crazy. NEW LIBRARY? Unless a facility is literally falling down and is a danger to the public, we should NOT, I REPEAT, NOT spend a nickle that we don't have to.
If these people take action to move forward with this at this time, we should revolt.

Reality check. Check your facts, it is not the Salisbury City Library it is the Wicomico County Free Library.

Or you could actually do what needs to be done instead of pissing money in the wind. Those people that own those properties on the north prong don't want any part of your (BARRIE, USC, GSC, etc) plan. Just go down there and ask them

Nothing has happened of any significance in developing the downtown as has been talked about for 10 years. What makes us think that this administration can bring anything to fruition---unless it is going to be at the expence of the citizens pockets you all in the city government are so adept at picking. What a bunch of bumbling idiots.
No building named after the mayor, either.
