If you crave free humor don’t miss the Mayor and City Council’s annual goal setting meeting this Saturday (Oct. 11). It will take place at Asbury United Methodist Church (Fox Room), located on Camden Avenue, beginning at 12:30 P.M.
In the past these meetings have been propaganda productions, in which important issues are not addressed seriously, followed by public pronouncement of "goals" consisting of platitudes and vague promises. This year will surely see more of the same BS by Barrie Tilghman, Bubba Comegys, Louise Smith and Shanie Shields, their focus being on increased programs and expenditures in a time of fiscal tightening, with little if any attention to cutting City spending.
An area that won’t be discussed in detail is the City’s chaotic budget and related matters – it now has even had to hire an accounting firm to help keep the books, in addition to the auditing firm. There is no meaningful budgetary oversight; the line-item budget is a thing of the past, as taxes and sewer/water charges skyrocket.
If it’s a bit chilly on Saturday, don’t worry – there will be plenty of hot air in motion.

Let's make goal #1 getting rid of Barrie and those three stooges on the City Council. We can dump her and Shanie in next year's election if we unite and start working now (or immediately after the Nov. election, practically speaking).
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
They actually have meetings on how many more tax dollars they can piss in the wind? More good money going to be thrown after bad. Heres a goal for you Barrie...QUIT while you can and take all of your ass kissers with you their services are no longer needed.
