Please Be Careful

"I don't know if this is a scam or what, but I felt compelled to share w/ you guys since it might compromise your family's safety.

My brother was sitting at his house (Fruitland) yesterday afternoon when there was a knock at the door. It was a young(er) black man who stated that he needed some $ for gas, his car had run out down the road w/ his "baby mama" in it. My brother stated he had no cash, but he had some quarters he could offer, and told the guy to wait outside. The man then proceeded to push his way into the house & sat on the couch. Roomate casually went to get his golf clubs, just in case. Then the young man followed my brother back to his room, all the while being told to stay outside. My brother gave the guy a handful of quarters, then told him to leave. He did, but then he went right to the next house & did the exact same thing. They called the cops just to give a statement in case something happened in the near future, it would be on record. The cops told them that a similar situation had happened last week to an elderly couple.

I have a cousin who lives in Princess Anne who had the SAME thing happen to her just last week....Except she was home alone w/ her young sons when the man came into her house "to use the phone" because his car had broken down/run out of gas. She told him she'd bring him the phone, and get her husband (who wasn't home), but he came in anyways. She returned to him along w/ a 9mm handgun and demanded he leave NOW. He did so.

LUCKILY, in these 2 situations, no one was hurt. This is SCARY! Please be aware of who you are answering your door to. Even if it seems harmless, it might not be."

Thats why im never more than six feet from a weapon, ever. Try that shit here and it will just be a garbage collection problem.

This is a reason why people should not open their door to strangers. It is easy for someone to push their way in. Look through your peepholes/windows people! If you don't know the person, don't open the door!

These scams are also out in force in strip mall/WalMart/Target parking lots (heavily in Bowie/PG areas). They are working in teams in the parking lots (most likely with a family member or two working IN the store...possibly as security or manager to alert them to Five-O). Watch (more importantly listen) very carefully at Megalomart as the person will approach you because she too "is out of gas" only to be picked up by a vehicle moments later and shuffled to another part of the parking lot (or Popeyes). In my experience, many of these new scammers will be women and will have a sister/mother/and, in the case I most recently observed, their children in the backup vehicle. In my opinion they are the former shoplifters who realize they are less likely going to court/jail for a scam attempt than they would be for shoplifting (loss prevention has gotten much better INSIDE THE STORES). Don't trust anyone anymore-the criminals know everybody is pulling out extra cash these days for various reasons. Kind of scary they would try to come to your home though....my german shepherd weeds out anyone like this-I don't get many "unannounced walk-ins"...

I dont know if they are talking about the same women in Princess Anne but my wife had a problem last Monday. A gold color suv (blazer or explorer with DE tags)was parked on our lane. A young white male knocked on the door. My wife said that he stated that they were broke down. She saw another dark haired guy in the car with a cell phone. She knew something was wrong. She never opened the door. She told the guy that she would get me (I was working). She came back with my Glock 9MM.
She showed him this through the window. She said that it did not phase him at all. He started to argue with her. She called the State Police. It took them one hour to ride through our neighborhood. I heard that these same guys were in a Mardela neighborhood a few weeks ago. Please be careful. Never open your door for a stranger. Teach your wives how to handle weapons.

I was getting gas last night at a station on rt 13 and a black gentleman asked me if I had some change to spare. I politely told him no and he went on his way. He had on new clothes so I'll make the assumption that he was not that desperate for cash. It probably was a harmless request but with all the crap going down in Salisbury I must admit, my guard was up. Waaaaaaay up!

If they come to my house, they will meet my 2 secuirty guards (Smith & Wesson) and I am not afraid to use it!

That's correct. And that is why i moved out of Bowie last year. I was born and raised there (except for college) and it got unsafe to continue to live there. I guess I didn't get away from it all. I will say since living there I have learned you NEVER open your door to a stranger. If you don't have a window or peep hole to look out of talk through the door. If they don't leave (again don't open the door) call 911. It's very scary but if you don't give them the chance to make their move then you're not putting yourself or family in danger. Just don't open the door. If someone does knock on your door with an emergency tell them you will call the police for them, still without opening the door.
If you for some reason go to Bowie, DON'T go to the BTC (Bowie Town Center)..Very unsafe night or day.

Alright I know law enforcement personnel and lawyers read this so please answer this question: Can I stick them with hopefully a heavy object when they force themselves in my house. If I am threatened verbally does that mean anything anymore?

I think we are referring to the same people....and I apologize if I have some facts incorrect as we got the story from someone you guys told it to.

2:56. If they legitimately FORCE themselves in..and you have tried for a 911 response (it is a slippery slope when you INVITE them in....never, ever do this, ever).....and you SUBJECTIVELY believe you and your family (not property alone, PEOPLE) are genuinely threatened, and retreat is considered, but felt unwise/unsafe.....aim for center mass.

this same guy was in Eagles Express Mart on Monday at around 4-5pm and he had a gas can I gave him 2 dollars just to get him away and he was doing the same thing to all the customers of the store....The tellers wouldnt call the cops.....

If you shoot at center mass make sure you do a double tap, this way there's only one witness to tell what happened!

Warning: these scum bags are criminals and don't give a crap about you or your gun that seems to be very evident. If you show a weapon you had better be ready to use it and if you use it the intruder better have a weapon on them in this state. Remember folks this aint Texas (they'll give ya a metal for saving the court cost)here in Maryland you have to prove you feared for your life to use deadly force. Which brings up another point if you shoot him make sure you finish the job or he'll come back and sue you for all you got. Plus if you finish him off it's his word against yours and if he's deceased he aint going to dispute your word! Just be careful out there because it's a harsh world we live in.

Don't think it will be too big a problem where I live.....it is very rural and every other yard has "target deer" and pickups.

You people are so nice with your 9mm's, it's such a nice neat little entry wound that it leaves. I on the other hand prefer my sawed off 12 guage, when you hit center mass at close range there isn't much left except to call in the cleaning crew. Come knock on my door and force your way in, we got room out in the chicken pit for your sorry asses. As my neighbor would say, we got plenty of acreage and a backhoe, bring it on.

You all are forgeting one mistake, call the police when this happens so they can arrest them and stop it from happening to someone else. If this guy continued to come into the house when told to wait outside, our judges would not have a problem sending this guy to jail for trespassing, burglary. At least the police can identify the guy so when your house gets broken into because he just checked out your house for valuables, alarm, dog etc. Call them that is what we pay them for. Even if you give them money and see them approach another person, call it in with a description without leaveing your name so the police can identify the guy. These are all old scams, out of gas, only need a couple dollars for a cab, etc. Use your common sense and evaluate the sorce.

Yuppers I have a 9mm, assault rifle and a 9mm pistol. Same rifle the Colombine kids had, it really was a selling point. 28 shots in about 35 seconds with two clip changes. Send them all over here, I take no prisoners.
