This just in from Joe

A few minutes ago Joe called me and advised me that he just learned that Kratovil couldn't muster up enough support locally for tonights debate so he had to bus supporters in from other locations. More to come......

So What?

I was there -- Harris acted like an arrogant buffoon and lost my vote. Big win for Kratovil, who got my vote tonight!

That's not nothing new. Andy Harris would have to do the same if there was a debate in Chester Town.

those supporters were from the Ocean Pines area.

The behavior of some in the audience was very inconsiderate of others who came to listen to the debate. The presonal attacks by both of the leading candidates were very uncomfortable as were the smirks by the candidate on the left side of the stage. I would like to think that leaders inspire better behavior. The young women in my seating area (who appeared to be SU students) finally turned around and glared at one of the rude people in the audience. They knew proper behavior far better than some who were much older. It's not about political affiliation, rahter basic courtesy. Allow the candidates to speak. The Gilchrest question was over the top.

Well, they need to go back to Ocean Pines and learn some manners!

Hooray for those girls...it’s a shame that the younger generation is now leading by example. You know, if you plan to come to a debate…shouldn’t you be prepared to hear things that you might not necessarily agree with? I know I did! But did I yell out about it? No! Did I want to at times? Yes!

My advice to those rude people is to stay out of the kitchen if you can’t stand the heat! The truth sometimes hurts and you know what? Debate and opposing points of view are healthy. It is the natural balance that we need to survive! If everyone agreed, how boring would this world be?

With that being said, get over yourself Kratovil supporters! You have to realize that not everyone in the world will always agree with you!

This post is patently untrue. The Kratovil supporters came of their own volition. They are democrats who are supportive of their candidate, and very involved in politics. The Kratovil campaign had absolutely no involvement in those people coming.

I was there, and I can report that the first people who started yelling were the Harris supporters. It happened right at the beginning: the Libertarian guy was introduced, to polite applause; then Harris was introduced and people cheered; then Kratovil was introduced and people cheered louder. The moderator asked everyone to please refrain from cheering. that lasted about 30 seconds, and if you are trying to say that Kratovil's supporters led this, you were not there. It is true that the Kratovil supporters did gte over the top, but that was after Harris answered a question about oil dependency by claiming Kratovil had the support of trial lawyers who free child molesters. it was so ridiculous that the crowd went nuts, and all semblance of control was lost. Harris came across like Pat Buchanon in 1992.
