My Name Is NOT Important

Last week you saw an exclusive story here on Salisbury News of a woman who had been brutally attacked in her own home in the Johnson Lake Community. As the photos above show, the Mayor couldn't even look her in the eyes, let alone look in her direction. It was disgraceful!

At 6:00 AM, this woman awoke to find a black man she had recognized as a neighbor or someone who was walking the neighborhood. Heck, this woman even knows where the guy lives and he has yet to be arrested.

The morning of the event the Salisbury Police Department failed to take finger prints and it wasn't until a neighbor who happens to be the President of the Neighborhood Association called Police Chief Webster directly and demanded he send back a team to start taking finger prints. This was days later, of course.

The woman attacked stated that makeup is covering up the bruises but the internal injuries will never go away. She moved to Salisbury 1 1/2 years ago from Baltimore and never had a problem like this all the years she had lived there.

If it hadn't been for a neighbor hearing her scream, who knows what could have happened. The guy attacking her would say, where's the money? She'd reply, what money. He'd then proceed to punch her in the face. This went on over and over again until the neighbors came to the rescue. The man did get away but they know who he is and it's only a matter of time before the prints nail him.

She complained about the lack of pay increases promised to the Police Department and the fact that Salisbury has grown leaps and bounds, yet the Force is still the same size today as it was 25 years ago!

Louise Smith actually had the nerve to start cutting this woman off as she spoke about this unbelievable and horrific event and it just goes to show you that Louise Smith and Barrie Tilghman couldn't give a damn about the Citizens of Salisbury.

Barrie Tilghman started out the evening stating she had a conversation/interview with the Daily Times and they asked what makes Salisbury so special. She gave them answers and then flat out stated that she had to call them back and say, you know, I thought about it some more and you know what makes Salisbury so special, the Citizens. Well, I learned many years ago, your first answer is your HONEST answer. You forgot about the Citizens who put you there you Idiot! Thanks for proving once again that Joe Albero has always been right about you Mayor.

Nonetheless, crime is up and things are getting worse. Never in the past have you seen the Daily Times bringing forward this kind of information until they were pressured to do so by competition, the Blogs. Perhaps the Citizens of Salisbury will finally come to realize that Salisbury is not the icing on the cake it tries to display all the time. They have a responsibility to tell ALL of the news.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Joe - what would it cost to use some of the local billboards around Sby?

Wouldn't be great to just have an all white background with black text (like the milk ad)

Got sbynews.com?

I can't find the words to express how sick this makes me feel. It is obvious that the Mayor has never experienced a family member being traumatized like this. No compassion, no heart, no character, no brains.

WTF?Everyone KNEW who the guy was and the police didn't get him?The perp is very lucky,in some neighborhoods, all the men would have banded together, looked him up and beat the living sh*t out of him in the dead of night.Make him think before he attacks another innocent citizen.

Only members of the "elite" class and/or law enforcement are protected in this town. If you are neither, you'd better roll with the punches.

Dear Ms. ?????

WELCOME TO BARRIELAND!

Sincerely yours,

The Dirty Dozen

PS- If Bubba becomes "R Necks Mare" things will get worse before they get better.

The mayor is such a stupid bitch. If I was that lady up there pleading with the city to do something about all the bullshit going on and she disrespected me like that, I'm telling ya. I'd of been locked up cuz I would beat her ass.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone takes the law in their own hands.
The way things are going the police are not the ones to call.
Maybe a vigilante group , or neighborhood watch patroling the
streets.

Peter Parker and Clark Kent need to give salisbury a visit.

This would have never been allowed to go on Coulbourn's watch. But I bet that now its on the blog it will be solved very soon. The mayor is calling the bat phone as we speak.

What a total lack of disrespect from the Mare!! She really is a horse's ass!

If the chief would put down his jack and coke long enough to do police work, this criminal would be residing on Naylor Mill Rd right about now. The woman says she knows who the guy is, can identify him so what's the problem? Let the police officers do their jobs...STOP MICROMANAGING the police force.

If I was this woman I'd find a Philadelphia lawyer to show these people (Paul Wilber) what the law is about and how to apply it.

Turn this investigation over to Mike Lewis. Cathcart wants deputies in the city, give them to her. Dismantle SPD and make one county wide police force under the direction of Mike Lewis. Do it NOW. Watch the miscreants get a brand new attitude.

This woman should consider filing suit against the city. The mayor and the council majority denied the citizens of additional police personnel. If there were a stronger police presence in this area as well as other areas I don't believe the crime rate would be so high. It wasn't that long ago shots were fired on New York Avenue. Do they have to be fired on London Ave or Monitor Ct before the police show up.

Recently the mayor called the police and demanded 2 officers be dispatched to her home on Monitor Ct. They, of course, got over there lickety split. Why were they sent? The story goes it was a false alarm. Imagine that, 2 officers because Barrie has a false alarm. Taxpaying citizens around the corner have to endure gun shots and now a home invasion and assault? How long did it take SPD to arrive?

Sue the bastards.

This woman and all citizen need to be armed, if you think these pimpled faced high school drop outs from Chief Clancy Wiggum's department will help you, think again. Protect yourself or you will be consumed by the west side.

It deeply saddens me that we are on here talking about gangs and arming ourselves to stay safe from the retartds running around the west side of salisbury. This is the eastern shore. When did all this happen. Why did they let all these people move here, why did the farmers sell their land. I understand the true reasons why of course. I am only 30 and I wish the shore was the way is was when I was little. It was for the most part just us. Born and raised here. These issues were not in the eqation so much. I want my shore back.

I wanted to make a point at the council meeting and felt like my words were completely useless. After I spoke then the "Woman from Johnson Lake" spoke I felt like nothing. I have had problems in town and I have been held up in other places but she was in front of me and I felt totally ill because my block cleaned up somewhat and she got the worst of the city. Echoing her anger Shame on a City that would let this happen then continue.
Question: How many new housing units were annexed into the town during the flurry of annexing they were having not to long ago? How many more people have moved into this area? How many police have been trained and hired? The comments I have been given shows a gigantic lope sidedness on the officials parts.

Donna and some others are right on target here. Have Mike Lewis cover this incident and do convert the SPD into the Sherriffs force. It's past due and we need an active law man in our area. Mike would certainly be that person! Old chief Webster never see's any problems, just here to draw his pay and kiss up to the mayor.

What a great point anon 5:03 makes.
I remember being surprised a few weeks ago when the word was out about the response to the false alarm at Barries house. How in the world did the same police dept. respond with so much less enthusiasm in the same neighborhood? How absolutely representative of the state of affairs here in sby.
We must, somehow, take back the power. Before it's too late.
I don't see how electing a child (figuratively speaking) to be mayor is going to help us thru this. We've already determined that good intentions are no longer enough. This is a very specialized job, and if the people of sby fail to elect an experienced professional the next time, we only have ourselves to blame.

"Ben", I heard you last night. Don't sell yourself short. You were great. Thank you for standing up, too. Your words meant a lot to my wife, too.

We have had numerous break-ins and burglaries within the city limits. Never, ever have the SPD caught anyone or pursued any leads. At one point, we located and identified stolen property sitting in someone's yard. The police said they "couldn't do anything." The seem much more interested in traffic violations, even in the highest crime areas. Seriously, check the published crime stats for the Church Street area on the SPD website... where we all know the biggest problem they've found is "parking"?? yeah, right.

Anonymous said...

This is an election year. The crime stats have to be kept low so Gary Comegys can stand in your living room and lie to you just like Louise Smith. He'll tell you like Shanie did about how crime is under control. He'll tell you we don't need more police officers but the pension fund, that he draws from, for the SFD needs to be increased. Gary Comegys is just like Barrie Tilghman, both are a waste of human flesh.

What the problem is....Same number of officers as 25 years ago, paying the officers that are there like it's 25 years ago. Unhappy workers who need to worry more about part time jobs to pay their bills than being a cop means proactivity stops. Face it want change, pay the police and add more of em. Wait the people in charge or too settled in their retirements to give too craps about taking care of the city or the police officers.

The council/mare/police administrators need to worry more about addressing issues not vacations, just passing time by, and golf. They need to start running this show like they care and wanna make a difference. Isn't that why they are either in charge or in police work. TO MAKE CITY SAFER?! No they putting in time, while they supervising the suffering and needy

Damn! I live Division. Just a little scary...
Hope they arrest the SOB. That's messed up.
