The purpose of allowing a closed meeting to discuss "a potential litigation matter" is so that the City attorney's views are kept confidential.

If there is a threatened or new suit against the City, the public is entitled to the basic facts -- what for, who, how much, etc. -- even if it is not by Mr. Leer, who was certainly wronged by Barrie Tilghman, at a cost to the City for legal fees and other expense of at least $20,000.

The developer of that condo on Fitzwater Street has said that City delay in approval of the plans caused the bank to turn off the cash spigot -- maybe that's what this one is about.

Although it is a lot of fun to do, especially at Barrie's expense, speculating on what this is about and spreading rumors could be bad for the city. Joe, why don't we wait and see what this is about, and then if it is something Barrie got us into, slam her good!

Anon 8:45, so who's going to slam her good - you? No, I opt for Stu taking the queen to CivilCourt over her activity that was totally over and above her authotity as mayor, costing us tax payersatleast the $20,000 attorney fees.

Respectfully, Mr. Goetz, you missed my point. I would be the first person in line to tar and feather her if I could for what she has done to the city and the waste of taxpayers' money at every turn. I simply meant I wanted to wait and see what the closed meeting is about rather than guess at what the "potential litigation matter" is about. Guessing and rumor-spreading could prove a liability in a legal case. Do we know yet what is is about? I am not in a position to attend meetings, unfortunately, especially those before 6 p.m. And please believe me when I say, the one I want to see slam her the most is JOE! He is the pro in that department. However, what would be great fun, and I really don't mean this as a threat, just a joke, would be to string her up like a pinata and let every taxpayer take a swing!
