Council Votes to Continue Corruption

Does anyone know what happened at yesterday's Wicomico County Council meeting? If you are talking about the vote on the dispensary it seems to depend on who you are talking to.

Councilman Joe Holloway thought that he voted to postpone the measure until a later meeting. Some members of the public are claiming that Councilman John Cannon abused his power as chair.

Several things are clear. A majority of the council lacks the moral courage to take a stand on this issue. Read more ...

Sir:

You said - "not all council members and certainly not all members of the public knew exactly what the vote signified."

So, how is that any different from everything else they do?

Give it a rest!

It's simple. Some members of the public thought that they were voting to postpone. Others thought that they were voting on the resolution. Some simply didn't know.

This issue is not going away. It isn't even put on the back burner since the WCLCB thinks that they are not subject to any state law except 2B.

I just can't believe they didn't understand what they were voting on. Worcester county had their referendum worded to confuse the constituents, making it sound that if you voted against county liquors you were voting against alcohol control. We know better than that.

Interesting that no one has mentioned the letter from the AG that Haemel read, or that Cannon asked Stevie to put up an amendment twice, and she sat silent. Or the restaurant owners who publicly spoke out in favor of the current system. Didn't see that anywhere on here.

This site claims it puts out all the info the Daily Disappointment doesn't, but that's only when the info helps your case.

Joe Holloway has asked everyone he can find for help on this, and former council members keep telling him he's wrong. I'm certain we'll never see the headline "Joe Holloway LIED after the meeting!" Which he did. They have all been to the meetings and been invited.

It's easy to see how meetings go based on how long it takes for you to comment on them. More and more, you have to take longer to find something to gripe about.

And not everyone who disagrees with you on this works for the LCB. Some people just see much larger problems than this, or they know that the state legislature is the correct forum to resolve this issue involving a state agency, not the local county council.
