Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On May 25, 2008 at approximately 7:30 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the boat ramp area on Rose Street for the report of a drowning. Upon arrival it was reported to the police that two (2) subjects had entered the water and were missing. Responding emergency personnel attempted to locate the two (2) victims on this date, without success.

Attempts to locate the two (2) victims resumed on Monday, May 26 at approximately 7:30 am. Both victims were located and pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of one (1) of the victims is still pending the confirmation by family members. The second victim has been identified as:

Johnnie Ray Tyson, Jr., 38 years of age Hyattsville, Maryland

On May 21, 2008 at approximately 4:44 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by the below listed suspect for traffic violations. During the stop, the Officers checked the vehicle and located a quantity of suspected marijuana inside of the vehicle.

ARRESTED: Erin Elizabeth Jones, 22 years of age Salisbury, Maryland
CHARGES: Possession of marijuana
DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200800017903

On May 23, 2008 at approximately 3:40 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by below listed suspect # 1 for traffic violations. During the traffic stop, the passengers were checked and the front passenger, below listed suspect # 2, was found to be wanted. A check of the vehicle, incident to arrest, revealed a quantity of suspected marijuana within the vehicle.

Possession of marijuana
Possession of cds/paraphernalia

DISPOSITION: Arrested # 2, Lamber, was released to Central Booking
Arrested # 1, 3, 4, juveniles, were released parents CC # 200800018186

On May 23, 2008 at approximately 6:11 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department Community Action Team executed a search and seizure warrant at a residence on the six hundred (600) block of Camden Avenue. During the execution of the search warrant, Officers located a large quantity of suspected crack/cocaine, and numerous items of suspected crack/cocaine paraphernalia.

ARRESTED: Charles Lee Beckett, 52 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES:
Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute
Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a school zone
Possession of cocaine
Possession of cds/paraphernalia (3 counts)
