That was cool.... thanks for taking the time to run that from the City Council Meeting....
I roared with laughter. The GOB and city council have become comedy central.
Why are strong, intelligent women called lesbians? Terry is married and has two children. She works her butt off for this community. She deserves better than derogatory comments.
And why do people use "lesbian" and "gay" as derogatory comments to begin with (pay attention, Joe, this goes for you, too, even though I know you do not in substance have anything against gay people)?
Making fun of people because they have looks or mannerisms traditionally associated with the opposite sex and associating that with being gay is not only offensive, it's stupid and juvenile. Compounding the problem by making gay or lesbian be "wrong" or "offensive" is...
wrong and offensive.
If you object to gay people on religious grounds, then ask yourself what Jesus would do. He would not condemn, but love.
If you object on aesthetic grounds, think how many times you have offended someone with your words, actions, morning breath or flatulence.
So, whoever made that stupid comment, you have only revealed that you must be pitied for your ignorance and childishness.
