Is It The New Public Workd Director Or The Mayor>

While the trash cans continue to overflow on the Downtown Plaza, (in fact, there's 80 less trash cans down there now) and trash is all over the place, the infrastructure the City is responsible for continues to fall apart and no one is doing anything about it. Maybe a 50% tax increase would make things better?

The rise and fall of the Salisbury Empire. It only took 10 years not 300 years.

This can't be blamed on the new public works director, who has been here less than a year. It is the result of years of neglect by Barrie Tilghman's administration. And the merchants and other occupants of property on the Downtown Plaza are not willing to fund any upkeep -- they want the taxpayers to do it all and to turn it into a street for vehicles at public expense.

What a disgusting abuse of the plan by "Pete" Cooper to make the Plaza a real feather in the City's cap. Let's hope the new public works director will take the lead in bringing it back like it was when Barrie became mayor -- the first step should be to close the Plaza to vehicle traffic.

You can not give millions away in developer welfare subsidies and maintain the infrastructure of the city. You don't get both, it is one or the other. Barrie and the Scheme Team I made the decision. Therefore, it cannot be Jim Caldwells fault.
