Whitehaven, Maryland

These photos were taken less than an hour ago in Whitehaven, Maryland. The tide is high and it looks like there's going to be some serious damage out there.

The Red Roost will be open tonight as planned. Call there and ask before you post incorrect information.

Lower Somerset county was awash this morning as well-when I looked outside at 9 am,my entire front yard was submerged,as well. From my house on down, our dead end road was covered.I spoke to people in Crisfield who mentioned alot of the side streets downtown and near the depot were also covered when high tide came in.The ongoing replacement project of the Main St sewer line has already disrupted traffic and its a mess, I just hope nobody else in any of the flooded areas on the Shore is injured or killed, homes and property are devastating to lose, but can be replaced. The last time I saw water & wind like this was Isabelle in 2003.

If the roost is open the employees can have all they can eat because no one in their right mind goes out to pick crabs or anywhere else in weather like this. Are you in your right mind Anon 105?

You would be surprised at who will go out in this mess and who cares. Get a life.

Shut up Tom!

The roost was open tonight!
Tom's not going to close his business and lose any money!

This is what you put up with when you want to live by the water as millions of people do. Grin and bear it !! Get your flood insurance and hope for the best!! This year look out for "MOSQUITO HEAVEN"

Tom's got a generator at the Roost. After all those years of power outages from thunderstorms, and things don't get fixed in a hurry way down there. He's prepared.

But can Tom pump all of that water off the roads going down there?

If you can't get to the Roost there's always Boonies

Actually, I prefer Boonies to the Roost. If I want to pick crabs and drink beer I'll stay home and do it, safer that way. A bushel of crabs, cold beer and good friends in the safety of my home, just doesn't get any better than that.
