Salisbury University Spring Sports In Action This Week.

Salisbury Universities Men’s Lacrosse team is set to open its regular season against Virginia Wesleyan at 12pm at Seagull Stadium tomorrow. The Gulls are the defending undefeated D-III National Champions after reclaiming the title with a 15-9 win over SUNY Cortland at M&T Bank Stadium. Currently the Seagulls are the number one ranked team in the country in the annual preseason coaches’ poll. The Seagulls have had the tradition of up-starting the season with overpowering play and large goal differentials in the final tally which sets the tone for the whole season. Twelve returning seniors exhibit the stature of a experienced team and a program that gets athletes through all four years of eligibility.

On the women’s side, the Lady Gulls are ranked third in the country. Hood College visits Salisbury tomorrow as well in a Capital Athletic Conference game which opens both teams seasons. Both teams are the reigning C.A.C. Champions. The Lady Gulls have had impressive campaigns but have fallen just short of National Champions in the previous years. Look for an impressive win to get the ball rolling for the season!

The men’s baseball team continues their season with a double header on the 17th facing the visiting Stevens Institute at 12pm at the Salisbury Athletic Complex. Virginia Wesleyan defeated the Gulls in 5-4 in the 10th inning in Salisbury’s first game. The game was played at Wesleyan.

Please come out and support your Seagulls this weekend at the Salisbury Athletic Complex and cheer them on to another winning season and championships!!!

I also love SU lacrosse. That team is the best. Wish I could get to more games. That sport is like hockey on grass. Fast, exciting, hard hitting. And almost no delays during the game.
What I wouldnt give to see SU play a dision 1 team like MD.. that would be cool! Think it could happen? Best of luck this season SU !!

Thay scrimmaged Duke last weekend and officilly it was a tie but Salisbury really dominated! How awesome is that!! Coach Berkman is rated the 4th greatest Lacrosse coach of all time by U.S.Lacrosse, and is one of the "winningest" NCAA coaches of any Division, any sport, OF ALL TIME, right up there with John Wooden. Does anyone know if Duvall went to Washington College?
