Anon 12:35, I believe that is a real group. If I'm not mistaken they show the "other side" to the Civil War because you know the saying about the winners writing the history. I have NO IDEA WTF is going on but whoever is bringing my name into shit is wrong and asking for a ass kicking. I'm normally a reserved, laid back guy. NO ONE has seen the ugly side of me and I don't think anyone would like to. My personal life has nothing to do with these blogs. I am happily married to a beautiful black woman and I have beautiful bi-racial children. If someone has any problem with that please come see me! Stop hiding behind the shadows so I can make an example out of one of you. I'm at station 2 on a regular basis and everyone knows who I am. And if I'm reading correctly I don't belong to any confederate group or to anything that promotes discrimination. If you REALLY know who I am then you know I'm very opened minded. I didnt post this but I will ask where does this post say David Bowling? All you can presume is a White male Fire Fighter married to a Black Female. David isnt the only White Fire Fighter with a Black wife in the SFD.

The organization is called "Sons of Confederate Veterans". They have nothing to do with racism. They're not separatists, Clansmen, or Neo-Nazi's. They're Americans who share the beliefs held by thier forefathers relating to States Rights. They are proud of thier Southern heritage and the fact is that African Americans are as welcome to join as any white person provided they can provide the same proof as anyone else that thier ancestors served as Confederate Soldiers. Contrary to popular belief, there were MANY Black Confederate Soldiers....some 50,000 as a matter of fact.
I'll bet you'd never convince black Confederate soldier and free man James Russell of the 24th South Carolina Volunteer Infantry the Confederacy soley existed to preserve slavery.....and he gave his life in that war.... Or former slave and free man Silas Chandler of the 44th Mississippi Infantry. The list goes on.

I love it when people say that someone cannot be prejudice because they are married to or date african americans. If a white male dates african american women, it means he likes african american women, it doesn't mean he's friendly with black males and won't enjoy the opportunity to insult them. The same goes for white women who date african american men. They aren't necessarily fans of african american women. All it means is you like YOUR african american mate. It doesn't mean you're cool with ALL african americans. Think outside the box. There is a popular Salisbury city corporal who has a black wife but he will violate the 4th amendment rights of a black man in a heartbeat. I don't care if there is a white firefighter with a black mate. It won't disqualify him/her from being prejudice against other blacks.
