I hope he intends on remembering Pearl Harbor also.

Next year will be the 40th anniversary of that tragedy. It needs to be remembered because the new generation needs to see the sacrifices these two brave lawmen made in the performance of their sworn duty.

The same applies to Pearl Harbor, to Firemen killed or injured in the performance of their duties, or any other person trying to do the right thing.

By the way, I'm not trying to be a smartass, but would you be so blase about it if it were Chief See doing the same thing in commemoration of a couple of Fire Fighters who died helping to put out the Great Salisbury Fire or the Benjamin's Fire? Just curious.

On an unrelated, but interesting side note, there is a business man who runs Riverside Nursery (he's partly retired now) who's name is Samuel Graham. He gets asked all the time if he was related to the late Sheriff. He is not.

Anon 4:32 - you must be KBA. You're the only clown I know who has such contempt for law enforcement!

I'm sure now that Mike Lewis is taking the time to remember these deputies the fire department will follow suit. It takes someone to lead the way for others to follow. Mike is a proven leader. Chief See is in a position where his hands are tied by the mayor. He can only do as she allows. Does anyone honestly believe she would allow such a ceremony? Soon the department heads in the city of Salisbury will have their hands untied and they will be permitted to lead once again, if they remember how.
