On April 13, 2009 at approximately 9:42 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department arrested the below listed suspect on three (3) outstanding Arrest Warrants. The first warrant charges the suspect with theft from a victim at a local rehabilitation facility. The suspect was found to have taken U.S. Currency and a credit card from a patient at a rehabilitation facility, then utilized the credit card at various location throughout Salisbury. The second and third arrest warrants charge the suspect with forging and fraudulently passing prescriptions for oxycodone in both Salisbury and Crisfield.

On April 14, 2009 at approximately 8:55 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on an outstanding arrest warrant charging the suspect with burglary. It was reported to the Salisbury Police in January 2009 that a residence on Monticello Avenue had been broken into and burglarized. The investigation resulted in the warrant for the suspect, charging the suspect with the burglary. The suspect was known to the victim.

Would you please post on your blog.

I want to thank you for coming to the Tea Party, you and your blog are in many ways responsible. I just wanted say that I was just one guy at the Tea Party, but here is how I feel.

The Salisbury Tea party was “organized” if you want to call it that by 7 or 9 core people that used their friends, families and contacts to locally get the word out entirely for free using local internet blogs, a few local radio personalities and just plain old grassroots word of mouth. Did we allow the national “Tea Party” movement to popularize this idea, yes. Do I/we agree with how a few neocons have grabbed onto this popular sentiment. Of course not.

Speaking as one of the 7 of 9 guys that was there, and a Ron Paul republican, I am asking you to please put the Wicomico County / Salisbury neo-Republicans on notice. We are bypassing you. You have failed us by not speaking out loud enough against the Republican neo-con movement that got us to where we are today. By doing so you have enabled this same movement to continue to run the Republican Party. That party has given us, torture as a good idea, out of control budget growth, which is being accelerated logarithmically by the current pretender to the Presidency, a foreign policy of personal retribution that continues to bankrupt us, albeit currently in a slightly different geographic location, and an overall abandonment of Constitutional Principles such as states right, habeas Corpus, and sound money.

These people have abandoned OUR core beliefs, they have abandoned Constitutional mandates, and they are on their way out. Do I want to thank Andy Harris and Debbie Campbell for being there? Yes, of course. But may I humbly ask them if I might send a gentle caution flag their way?

OUR votes are no longer for free. Continue to disenfranchise us and you, like many Republicans, will be sent back home.

Following the class visit, Rep. Kratovil will visit the Board of Education to meet with Superintendent of Schools Dr. John Fredericksen and his cabinet. 12:30 Today

BARRIE’S FY2010 BUDGET – THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE MYSTERY

This is an initial evaluation based on the written “Public Summary” – Mayor’s Budget Message, etc. – that was presented at the coming out party that Barrie gave yesterday. Because I was engaged in other activity that occurred elsewhere downtown, I did not attend her media event.

In this comment the term “year” is used in the budget sense – fiscal (not calendar) year.

In general it’s a mediocre effort under the circumstances. The overall total ($51.9 Million) is about 9.2% higher than this year’s budget as it was initially adopted last year – i.e., before it was adjusted upward for various reasons (unanticipated or overlooked costs, grants, gifts, etc.) during the year to date. Although the tax rate is unchanged from the level to which it was raised two years ago, the sewer and water rates will increase by about 15% as anticipated.

Both personnel and other expenses have been fairly well controlled, with a notable few exceptions, but more detailed (line item) information is needed for full evaluation. There is no cost of living salary adjustment (“COLA”) and no longevity (“step”) salary increase. However, certain city employees may be reclassified to a salary higher level (a “Lore Chambers pay raise”) -- and that warrants strict scrutiny.

There are eight new employees: the police officers to be paid with special grant funding (if received), although the message also mentions hiring a “Main Street Coordinator” to replace Urban Salisbury, which would be a “contractual/part-time” position. Apparently no present positions are to be eliminated, nor would there be any furloughs or a “freeze” on filing vacant positions. The budget analyst position recommended by a consultant is not being budgeted by Barrie.

But it is simply impossible to assess the proposed expenditure without having a more detailed (line item) format. For example the category “Municipal Buildings” is up by about 80% (almost $200,000) without any details that I noticed. Certain items are elaborated in the narrative part of the budget message – of those the following are inappropriate in my opinion:

$50,000 – light poles in Sassafras Meadows Phase I
$55,000 – sidewalks in Harbor Point

In those instances, the developer was not required to install those things, and the public should not bear the burden of doing so.

$15,000 – foundation repairs for the unused and obsolete “standpipe”

As usual, the budget message and data in the “Public Summary” is sketchy about revenue, and that’s the mysterious aspect as well. The main source of city revenue is from the property tax on real estate and other property. The amount of property tax revenue depends on the value of the “assessable base” and the tax rate – two years ago the rate was raised from .729 to .819 (by 12.3%) to increase the tax revenue.

Barrie’s proposed budget for 2010 projects a 9% increase in property tax revenue without further increase in the tax rate but an estimated 8.6% increase in the assessable base. The budget message describes the amount and yearly change in the assessable base as follows:

The projected 8.6% increase in the assessable base in 2010 seems questionable in light of the economy and the 2% decrease that is now estimated to occur 2009. But there’s even greater mystery – in last year’s budget data the assessable base was described as follows:

The difference in the estimated amount of the assessable base for 2008 in last year’s budget message and the actual amount that’s now reported for that period in this year’s message is over $150 Million – a huge difference – and casts a cloud over the City’s data and possibly its procedure as well. The narrative part of the budget message does not discuss the difference, which needs to be explained in detail.

Based on an initial reading of the pertinent material that has been presented to the public, Barrie’s last proposed budget gets a C-plus, subject to revision upon more detailed scrutiny. Because of significant discipline in personnel matters, a higher grade is certainly possible if the currently unknown details are reasonable in nature and amount.

Some further thoughts occur. Once again the budget message reeks with Barrie’s whining about things mixed with self-adulation. The “Public Summary” should be made much more objective and comprehensive – are you listening Mr. Ireton? The best thing about the City Council’s budget review and revision process is that Debbie Campbell will be there once again to provide real oversight. Hopefully, she will be able to call the plays if Ms. Polk prevails.

Salisbury Tea Party Part I

I must say, when I arrived I was somewhat bummed out about the small crowd that had started to gather but as time went on and I ran upstairs to the Mayor's Budget Meeting, I stopped in briefly to pick up the media kit and then headed back downstairs and was shocked at what I saw.

As time went on the crowd just kept getting bigger and bigger and the next thing we knew there were some 550 people there. They had probably 75 speakers who took a few brief minutes to express their thoughts.

I'm extremely pleased so many people showed up for this event. HOWEVER, I have a few thoughts I'd like to share with ALL of you.

Where have you been?????

We have County Council Meetings and City Council Meetings where I watch some Council Members get beat up and NONE of you are there to support them. While I believe in your cause, do you believe in MINE?

I watch people like Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen get dumped on in ways you just wouldn't believe and I have been attending meetings for at least 4 years now and again, while I appreciate ALL of you for showing up, the grass roots starts right here at home Folks!

YOU need to be heard and one way to start is by attending Council Meetings by both the City & County and you need to be heard. I listened to speech after speech and while we're ALL frustrated, I must know why you refuse to participate in your own local government?

Anyhow, I've said my peace and I hope you'll all respond to my question. ONE MAN CAN'T DO IT ALL! I can provide a place like Salisbury News for all of you to gather and even use as a tool to get 550 people to an event like this but it has been what, 200+ years since we've seen/learned of a gathering like this!

Get it together Folks. Salisbury News is a great venue/tool to use for such things but without turn outs like yesterday, do you really wonder why others call you radicals?

Salisbury Tea Party Part II

We have gathered here today to make our voices heard by all our politicians, especially those in Washington, but what is it we are saying? 240 years ago our countrymen dumped the king’s tea into Boston Harbor. Why? Because the king and parliament had adopted policies and imposed taxes that were destroying their ability to pursue their economic happiness. They understood, as we are beginning to understand, that economic freedom is the foundation from which our liberty flows. If the government has the right to our income before we do, we are merely slaves given an allowance. If the government has the right to determine how we utilize and dispose of our property, we are merely caretakers. If the government thinks that it, rather than our Creator, endow us with our rights, then we are mere subjects, dependent upon the whims of those in power. This nation was conceived to remove man from the arbitrary power of kings and despots and allow him to shape his own destiny apart from the dictates of a distant government that knows nothing of his needs and desires.

This nation was founded by men who were subjects of a king and who rose up to remove the shackles of tyranny to embrace the privileges and responsibilities of liberty. They believed that it was the individual, not the government, who knew how best to order his affairs for the preservation of his God given rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. For almost one hundred years we have allowed a government conceived for the preservation of those rights to mutate into a state that has reduced us to subjects once again. We have traded the privileges and responsibilities of individual liberty for the promise of physical and economic security, promises the majority are finally beginning to find empty. We are finally waking up to the fact that the siren song of a state run utopia is merely the prelude to our enslavement. The declaration states that “mankind are more disposed to suffer, while the evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.” This has been true for decades but we are finally seeing the writing on the wall and now we realize that our silence will result in the final destruction of the vision of the founders and the nation itself. We find the evils sufferable no longer!

For too long we have allowed our government to make war on our faith, our values and our liberty. And we have been complicit, allowing them to tax and regulate ever larger portions of our lives in the hope that we will be more secure. We can shout, we can complain but we must also pull ourselves off the government teat and take responsibility for ourselves. If we are going to raise our voices and say that we want our liberty back, we must once again take responsibility for ourselves. It is we who must provide for our retirement, save for a rainy day, take responsibility for our health care and the education of our children. It may seem a sacrifice to us but it was everyday life for our grandparents and great-grandparents.

We stand on the edge of the abyss. If we allow the final nails to be driven into the coffin that was the founder’s vision, there will be no return. But we cannot merely shout “stop here” for the statist will merely pause until we become accustomed to our new bonds and then move ahead once again to add anew. We must put men and women in office who will dismantle the fascist power that has evolved over the last hundred years and return to us the constitutional republic we were created to be. We are not powerless yet but it is we who must take up the banner once held by Washington and Jefferson and Adams and Madison, the banner of Liberty, not for a moment, but for the duration of the struggle. The fate of our great country rests upon our shoulders. May we not shrink under the burden but stand boldly in the face of tyranny and in so doing, make our selves worthy heirs of the American Revolution.

3 Shots 3 Kills

WASHINGTON - A U.S. military official says Navy Seals opened fire and killed three pirates when a Navy commander made a split-second decision that an American hostage's life was in danger.

Vice Adm. Bill Gortney, commander of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, said the pirates had made a ransom demand for the release of Capt. Richard Phillips and had threatened throughout the ordeal to kill him.

So when the commander of the nearby USS Bainbridge believed Phillips was in "imminent danger" he ordered Sailors to fire at the pirates, who were armed with AK-47s and small-caliber pistols.

According to a report in today's Washington Post, the rescue operation involved dozens of Navy SEALs who were airdropped into the sea and set up for their mission aboard the Bainbridge. The SEALs used small boats to bring food and water to the pirates, and when the seas grew rough the Navy offered to tow the lifeboat to calmer waters. The pirates agreed, and soon were linked to the destroyer by some 80 feet of cable, according to the Post.

One pirate "effectively gave himself up," the paper quoted a senior military official as saying, and from aboard the Navy ship tried to convince the others to surrender. Not only did they refuse, however, but they grew increasingly irritated.

"In the last discussion, they said, 'If we don't get what we want, we will kill the captain,' " the Post quoted the official as saying.

Finally, as two pirates neared one of the lifeboat hatches and the third pointed his AK-47 at Phillips, the on-scene commander made his call to take them out.

"As soon as the snipers had a clear shot at the guy who had the rifle, they shot him and the other two in the hatches," the official told the Post.

Another SEAL quickly slid down the tow line, into the water and boarded the lifeboat to help Phillips.

Gortney says the White House had given "very clear guidance and authority" that if any time the commander Capt. Phillips' life was in danger to take action to make sure it was not.

Playing For Change: Song Around the World "Stand By Me"

Poodles will Parade & Compete At The Wicomico Youth & Civic Center

(Salisbury, MD) The Poodle Club of America returns to Salisbury April 17-24, 2009 for the 77th annual National Specialty. The specialty begins in Elkton, MD with tracking, hunting retriever, work, and agility tests. The excitement continues here in Salisbury on Monday, April 20, when more than 1,000 poodles will strut their stuff at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center.

The National Specialty is described as ‘the Super Bowl’ of poodle competitions. On the 20th, poodles from across the nation and world will take part in agility trials. The Agility trial allows handler and dog to run full speed, while having to perform accurately and safely on A-Frames, Dog Walks, See-Saws and a wide variety of jumps and tunnels. On Tuesday, April 21 the schedule includes obedience trials and a parade of companion & performance titleholders. Obedience Trials test a dog's ability to perform a prescribed set of exercises on which it is scored. There are 3 levels in which a poodle can be rated – novice, open, and utility. Each level is increasingly more difficult to achieve. Wednesday through Friday will feature the best in show competitions and judging. Poodle mania ends on Friday, April 24 when the Best in Show ceremony at approximately 5 PM draws the National Specialty to a close.

The poodle show hours are 8 AM to 6 PM from April 21-24, 2009 at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center. The poodle show is free and open to the public, but no outside dogs are allowed at the event. Vendors will be on hand at the event selling poodle and dog care equipment and souvenirs. Wicomico County Tourism will also be on hand to assist anyone interested in gaining information about the region and area Convention & Visitors Association Businesses.

The Salisbury MD Kennel Club is proud to announce that we will again be host to the Poodle Club of America's POODLES-ONLY INTERNATIONAL DOG SHOW, to be held at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center and other places in the area from April 17 through April 24. The public is invited to watch. There is no admission fee for any of the events. UNENTERED DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE PREMISES.

Friday April 17 will be an AKC TRACKING TEST at Fair Hill Natural Resoure Mgt area, Parking Lot #3, Appleton Rd. N., Elkton, MD starting at 7:00 AM.

Salesman Of The Year

A strange thing happened last year. On November 5th of 2009 one man single-handedly sold more firearms in the US in one day than on any day since this country was born. In recognition of this momentous occasion, an award was presented in a quiet ceremony held in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room of the White House. This special presentation was attended by NRA Executive Vice President Wayne R. LaPierre, Kayne B. Robinson and Sandra S. Froman. In this rare turn of events, President Barrack Hussein Obama was awarded the Firearms Salesman of the Year Award for being responsible for the sale of the largest number of firearms in American History. James Brady, Sarah Brady, Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and Diane Feinstein were unable to attend due to previous commitments. Arrest Of Armed Robbery Suspects

On the evening of Tuesday, April 7th, 2009, an armed robbery having occurred in the parking lot of the Food Lion grocery was reported to the Fruitland Police Department. The subsequent investigation revealed that on that date, the suspects, operating a black Ford Explorer with gold trim, approached a male victim, pointed a 22 cal. revolver at him and robbed him of cash and several other items. They then ordered the victim to remove his outer clothing and shoes which they took with them when they left the scene. The investigation resulted in the obtaining of arrest warrants for both suspects who are brothers.

On Tuesday, April 14th, 2009 at approximately 9:03 a.m. Fruitland investigators with the assistance of the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department, arrested DUSTIN KYLE VASS
6’3”, 200 lbs., dob: 05/13/1987 at his residence located at 27059 N. Tourmaline Drive, Hebron, Md. Without incident. DUSTIN KYLE VASS was charged with the following;

DUSTIN KYLE VASS was released to the custody of the Wicomico County Central Booking unit and the search continued for his older brother, DON WESLEY VASS.

On Wednesday, April 15th, 2009 at approximately 1047 p.m., Deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department returned to 27059 N. Tourmaline Drive, Hebron, Md. in an attempt to locate DON WESLEY VASS. He was located and arrested at that location after a brief attempt on his part to elude capture and resist arrest. Fruitland officers were contacted and advised of the arrest, whereupon they proceeded to the Wicomico County Detention Center Central Booking Unit and served the arrest warrant upon him charging him with the following;

Handgun use in Felony and Violent Crime
Handgun on person
Conspiracy – Armed Robbery
Conspiracy – Assault- First Degree

Will You Give This To My Daddy

Last week I was in Atlanta , Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.

Moving through the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering.

When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and cheered for, it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red-blooded American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families.

Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal.

Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our service men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old, ran up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said 'hi.'

The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her.

The young soldier, who didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her Daddy. Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.

The mother of the little girl, who said her daughter's name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up.

When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.

After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, 'I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you.' He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying 'your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon.'

The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event.

As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier, in one last act of selflessness, turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek.

We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's good to be an American.

This summer, Kids Klub and Pemberton Park’s Summer Nature Camp return to provide your kids with great memories of the summer of 2009. New to the mix is Wicomico County’s Teen Town Summer Vacation for teens ages 12 to 14. All camps are staffed by highly qualified, experienced, and well trained counselors and offer exciting weeks that your children will enjoy.

Kids Klub Summer Escape is a Wicomico County favorite. This versatile program is held at Fruitland Intermediate, North Salisbury School, Pittsville Elementary and Westside Intermediate. Grow 100 lbs. Of Potatoes In 4 Square Feet: How To

Potato Box Project By The Seattle TimesQuite the clever gardening tip here folks! Today’s feature includes tips from three different sources for growing potatoes vertically (in layers) instead of spread out in rows across your garden. If you have limited garden space or want to try some nifty gardening magic, this could be a great option for you.
First, there’s this article from The Seattle Times: It’s Not Idaho, But You Still Can Grow Potatoes:

The potatoes are planted inside the box, the first row of boards is installed and the dirt or mulch can now be added to cover the seed potatoes. As the plant grows, more boards and dirt will be added.

You plant potatoes in one bottom layer, boarding up the sides of each layer and adding dirt as you go higher (you wait until the plants have grown a bit before adding a new layer). While new potatoes are growing in the top layers, remove the boards from the first layer at the bottom to carefully dig out the potatoes that are ready for harvesting. Fill the dirt back in and board up the box again. You move up the layers and harvest as the potatoes are ready. I imagine the new potatoes in the first couple bottom layers would be somewhat awkward to get at but as you move higher–not so bad.

Greg from Irish-Eyes Garden City Seeds let me know that Yukon Golds, and all early varieties set fruit once and do not do well in towers. You only get potatoes in the bottom 6 inches, which is what I got. Late season alternatives to yukon gold are Yellow Fin and Binjte.

FORMER LOCAL MUSICIAN PAUL LEWIS RETURNS BRINGING A FESTIVAL AND FINAL YNOT REUNION PERFORMANCE WITH HIM

The Unicity Performing Arts Festival announced today that the band YNOT! will reunite on May 16th for their final performance as a group. The band launched their career in Salisbury in the late eighties as a group of college students from Salisbury State University. DELAWARE: DelDOT warns of water on roadways

State Police Probe Pedestrian Related Crash

Location of Incident: WAWA parking lot, located at 1515 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, Delaware, New Castle County

Date and Time of Occurrence: Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at approximately 2:00 a.m.

Suspect Vehicle: Black sedan

Resume: The Delaware State Police Troop 2 patrol division is looking into a pedestrian related crash which apparently occurred in the early morning hours of this date.

Troopers were called to the WAWA parking lot, located at 1515 North DuPont Highway, at approximately 2:00 a.m. for the report of a female lying in front of the store.

Upon their arrival, officers contacted the injured person, Ms. Linda Behm, 60, of Savannah, New York. She said that she was walking to her car eastbound through the parking lot when she next found herself lying injured on the ground. Linda was not able to advise how the events unfolded and could only say that prior to being hurt; she remembered seeing a black sedan.

Ms. Behm was transported by EMS and admitted to Christiana Hospital with a head injury.

Surveillance video was reviewed and, unfortunately, the incident that led to Ms. Behm's injury was not captured.

Anyone with information pertaining to this case is asked to call investigators at 302-834-2620.

Windows Broken Out At Elsmere Area Elementary School

Location of Incident: Austin D. Baltz Elementary School, 1500 Spruce Avenue, Elsmere, Delaware, New Castle County

Date and Time of Occurrence: Tuesday, April 14th, 10:15 p.m.

Suspect(s): Three male subjects, possibly teenagers, who were accompanied by a medium to large short haired, dog about 45 – 50 lbs.

Resume: Detectives from the Delaware State Police Youth Aid Division are investigation a major criminal mischief case at Austin D. Baltz Elementary School in Elsmere.

In this incident, three juvenile subjects, accompanied by a dog, trespassed upon school property and made their way to the rear of the building. Here, the trio used broken pieces of asphalt to shatter out 27 windows on the exterior of the school.

Surveillance video is not available for dissemination to the media at this time.

This is scary for anyone who travels frequently by plane!!!! Actual crack in a DC-9 window! Fliers beware of the sub standard maintenance on the airplanes that you fly on.

This is an actual crack that was found in the window frame on a DC-9. I'll definitely think twice before flying US Air.

MAYBE BARRIE WILL GIVE US THE WWTP POOP TODAY

The budget media event that Barrie Tilghman is doing this afternoon is a perfect time for her to give us that now long overdue briefing that Barrie promised when the WWTP fiasco became public. This is from WMDT's report by Keira Benson on March 23:

Salisbury Mayor Barrie Tilghman held a press conference on the issues at the plant Monday after she says information was leaked to the media. She says it was confidential because there could be litigation pending and she doesn't want to jeopardize it.

Tilghman says, "What we were doing was to try and get the consultant in here to give us a better idea of what was going on . . . brief the Council and the first week in April hopefully talk to the public about this."

A Final Note On "Tea Bagging"

Jack-Knifed Tractor Trailer Closes Lanes On I-95 Northbound

Location of Incident: I-95 northbound, just north of Route 273, Newark, Delaware, New Castle County

Date and Time of Occurrence: Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at approximately 8:45 a.m.

Resume: State Troopers and emergency personnel are currently on the scene of a three vehicle crash on I-95 northbound, just north of Route 273. This crash involves a jack-knifed tractor trailer which is partially blocking the roadway.

There are preliminarily two minor injuries reported.

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternative routes as the two right lanes are closed and a traffic back-up is reported.

A more complete release will be forthcoming when details of this crash are known and confirmed.

HERE'S INSIDE POOP ON SALISBURY"S WWTP

"I recently spoke with someone who is a professional engineer and teaches about sewage treatment at a major university. I mentioned the recent disclosure about the problems with Salisbury’s new WWTP, and he was interested when I told him that it was designed by O’Brien & Gere and sent the press release you posted. He has sent the attached material about the WWTP and that firm, which is continuing to tout the plant on its website. Apparently O&G got a patent on the system, and the City paid for most of the cost to get it.

My contact feels that the system is a hybrid that could be loaded with problems. Also he wonders if the City has waived its rights to recover the cost of making it operational that could be millions of dollars.

He also thinks that the use of “sugar water” – mentioned in the article "Salisbury WWTP" -- may be a cause of much of the problem. Also, the system may operate better in the summer than in the winter due to higher ambient temperature and the treatment processes that are involved."

This is an unbelievable find! It should also make the Mayor's Press Conference quite interesting today. They have clammed up on this issue and we always knew there was something highly suspicious about this WWTP.

Mayor Tilghman is exactly what I claimed she was 4 years ago.

Left Onley,IL this AM. Cloudy with north wind (15-25) so temp stayed around 43 on bikes thermometer.

Notice how narrow Old 50 is. Did heel and toe across and looks to be 16' wide. I remember riding in the truck with my Dad on old US6 back in late 40s early 50s. It was so narrow that we had to slow and move right to get past a truck coming the other way.

In my last I mentioned something about seeing an eagle fly. Sure enough, looked up and saw this guy circle and land. Slammed on the brakes and went back to get a pic. Am I getting the eagle eye??

Sun finally broke through near Sedalia, MO. Temp went up 10 degrees. Great ride through central MO.

After a nationwide vote of the Automobile License Plate Collectors Association (ALPCA), Delaware's Limited Edition Centennial License Plate has won the Best License Plate of the Year Award. Other finalists for the award were Alaska, Minnesota, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Wyoming.

The black onyx & heritage gold colored plate - which honors the 100th anniversary of the license plate in Delaware - was selected for its combination of attractiveness and legibility of design. This is the first time in the nearly 40 year history of the program that Delaware has won the award.

Governor Jack Markell was genuinely excited when he stated, "It took one hundred years to be able to release the Delaware Centennial License Plate. Clearly, its selection as plate of the year means it is making the most of its limited run. Our DelDOT and Division of Motor Vehicles team did a great job designing and promoting the plate. I received several calls on Sunday and Monday saying they had never seen such a small Sunday Daily Times Newspaper. One person even said they printed the Comics in the paper itself because there were next to no sale inserts.

If this is the case, these guys are failing fast. To those of you who are still getting a subscription to the paper, let us know what you thought of the Sunday paper.

DO YOU DENOUNCE THE BLOGS?

More than a month ago I stood in front of the Mayor and City Council on PAC 14 and asked Mr. Comegys if he still denounced the Blogs? Louise Smith immediately intercepted my question and demanded that Gary Comegys NOT answer that question. I immediately said, OK then Louise, let me change my question. I then asked to hear from each and every City Council Member if they denounced the Blogs. Louise replied, we'll get back to you on that question Mr. Albero.

Not only has it been more than 40 days, I made contact with some Council Members and asked if they had been directed to respond to that question and they said, NO. I repeated what I said and added, did Lore' Chambers or anyone else ask you to respond to that question, NO.

The reason I had asked was because we have information tying Louise Smith, Shanie Shields, Gary Comegys and Chief Webster to Jonathan Taylor and since the Mayor's own Son runs his own Blog, yet she denounces all Blogs, we wanted a direct answer to show these people were all tied to the nastiest Blogger known to mankind.

They refuse to answer this question because they know we have evidence tying them to this Blogger and if they simply don't answer they simply won't be lying. They used another Blogger for their smear campaign during the election and the funniest part about it is, the majority of the Citizens that voted clearly told us, they do NOT believe Gary Comegys by a long shot. They do NOT believe Barrie Tilghman and from the looks of the comments seen here recently on this Blog the Citizens don't trust Chief Webster either.

That being said, Hosting a Blog that attacks people like Debbie Campbell, Jim Ireton, Cynthia Polk, to me, seems to be a pretty stupid way to run a Blog in the hopes of expanding your readership. The only answer to that is, they want to continue a smear campaign even though the Citizens have spoken.

If anyone thought the Tilghman Administration was going away, they're sadly mistaken. In fact, they're mad and they're going to attempt to make the next 4 years a miserable 4 years. If Shanie Shields holds on to win and Mayor Ireton presents items for the agenda in which Barrie doesn't want moves through, they'll simply vote 3-2 and reject anything and everything they so choose.

While "Help Is On The Way" and the Citizens voted for change, the games may be just beginning. Strap on your seat belts Folks because things are going to get very interesting. They didn't denounce the Blogs because they helped create a new one.

NEW DATE RAPE DRUG ON THE MARKET CALLED BEER.....

Police are warning all men who frequent clubs, parties and local pubs, to be alert and stay cautious when offered a drink from any woman. Many females use a date rape drug on the market called "Beer" to target unsuspecting men.

The drug is generally found in liquid form and is now available almost anywhere. It comes in bottles, in cans, from taps, and in large "kegs."

Beer is used by female sexual predators at parties and bars to persuade their male victims to go home and have sex with them. Typically, a woman needs only to persuade a guy to consume a few units of Beer and then simply ask him home for no-strings-attached sex. Men are rendered helpless against this approach.

After several beers, men will often succumb to desires to perform sexual acts on horrific- looking women to whom they would never normally be attracted.

After drinking Beer, men often awaken with only hazy memories of exactly what happened to them the night before, often with just a vague feeling that "something bad" occurred.

At other times these unfortunate men are swindled out of their life savings, in a familiar scam known as "A Relationship." It has been reported that in extreme cases, the female may even be shrewd enough to entrap the unsuspecting male into a longer-term form of servitude and punishment referred to as a "Marriage."

Apparently, men are much more susceptible to this scam after Beer is administered and sex is offered by the predatory females.

Please forward this warning to every male you know. (And women with a sense of humor!) If you fall victim to this insidious Beer and the predatory women administering it, there are male support groups with venues in every town where you can discuss the details of your shocking encounter in an open and frank manner with similarly affected, like-minded guys.

I went in for a total hysterectomy and in the 3 days that I was there, never once did a nurse or aide provide me with a wash basin or offer to wash my back...I lumbered into the bathroom w/IV tubes, etc. to try to wash up at the sink...Also, in 3 days, my sheets were not changed. The only thing that was changed was the folded sheet/pad underneath my bottom. I used to work there and saw a lot of what went on.

Funny thing, after previous stays, I got something in the mail asking me how I felt my stay was. This time, they were afraid of what my response would be. I had to get assertive with the nurse when she made me wait over 2 hours for my pain medicine (which was only ibuprofen).

I must say that my doctor (Dr. Jennings) was excellent, very attentive. It is an awful place to work and an even more pathetic place to be a patient.

Chestnut Manor Apartments Reach Out To Law Enforcement Agencies

"Attention: Law Enforcement Agencies

We, the residents of Chestnut Manor Apartments I &II located on 800 E. Chestnut Street Delmar, Maryland 21875 have a serious drug infested problem within the complex. This problem has been on going for quite sometime and the Delmar Police Department has been informed and nothing has been done about it. The problem is so bad that the property manager can’t get any cooperation from the local police department. It’s funny how the police can patrol the area at night , but can’t do anything about the drug dealers that live in the complex. We observed Friday night (1/9/09) the volume of traffic going into building 200, apartment #201. There was so many people going in and out of the apartment, we thought it might have been Halloween. There were cars parked everywhere and people dashing in and dashing out. Also, there was lots of foot traffic as well from building 200 to 400. The building 600 and 1100 has drug trafficking as well. We are concerned about the safety of the elderly and disabled residents that live on the property. We fear that if something is not done about this problem, Chestnut Manor will be like Pemberton Manor in Salisbury. The residents would suggest, if possible, more police patrol or a substation. We feel that this is a serious problem so we are mailing this letter to the following agencies: Sheriff Mike Lewis, Maryland State Police- Comm. Lt. Daniel Nelson, State’s Attorney Office- Davis Ruark, Delmar Police Dept.- Chief Harold Saylor and Rural Development- Marlene Elliott Brown. Maybe if all the agencies gather their resources and put them together something can be done about this problem. Citizens are told to report crime and drug activity and this is what this letter is intended for. Thank you for your time and consideration.

So, the dwarf shows up, and the guy asks him if he's looking for a male or female horse.

'A female horth.'

So he shows him a prized filly.

'Nith lookin horth. Can I thee her eyeth?'

So the guy picks up the dwarf and he gives the horse's eyes the once over.

'Nith eyeth, can I thee her earzth?'

So he picks the little fella up again, and shows him the horse's ears.

'Nith earzth, can I thee her mouf?'

The rancher is getting pretty ticked off by this point, but he picks him up again and shows him the horse's mouth.

'Nice mouf, can I see her twat?'

Totally mad at this point, the rancher grabs him under his arms and rams the dwarf's head up the horse's fanny, pulls him out and slams him on the ground.

The midget gets up, sputtering and coughing.

'Perhapth I should rephrase that. Can I thee her wun awound a widdlebit?'

Chick-fil-a Rebate - I can’t find an official press release from them, but a few different news outlets are reporting on this so I feel it’s fairly legit. Go to your local Chick-fil-a on Wednesday, make a purchase, and save the receipt. Then take the receipt back any day between April 16-30 and get a free meal of whatever you purchased!

Today at 11:00 the Wicomico County Library System will celebrate its 140th year. There's been no Press Release that I'm aware of and I'll simply take a guess that they'll hold this celebration at the main Library in Downtown Salisbury.
