Wicomico County is gearing up for summer with several fun kids’ summer camp offerings. This summer, Kids Klub and Pemberton Park’s Summer Nature Camp return to provide your kids with great memories of the summer of 2009. New to the mix is Wicomico County’s Teen Town Summer Vacation for teens ages 12 to 14. All camps are staffed by highly qualified, experienced, and well trained counselors and offer exciting weeks that your children will enjoy.
Kids Klub Summer Escape is a Wicomico County favorite. This versatile program is held at Fruitland Intermediate, North Salisbury School, Pittsville Elementary and Westside Intermediate. The program runs from June 15 to August 14, but enrollment is flexible, so parents may enroll their children for all eights weeks or just one. From Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 5:30 PM, kids will spend their time meeting new friends, playing games, celebrating theme weeks, and taking field trips. Enrollment is all-inclusive and costs $120 per child per week. For parents wishing to enroll several children, there is a $10 discount. Visit www.wicomicokidsklub.org for more information.
Another summer camp offering for the teens in your family is the Teen Town Summer Vacation. Geared towards ages 12-14, Teen Town is the newest summer camp hotspot to hit the Eastern Shore. The program runs from June 22 to July 31 from 7:30 AM to 4 PM at Pinehurst Elementary. Enrollment is $140 per child per week with a $10 multiple child registration discount. During the 6 weeks, participants will become “residents” of their own specialized town designed to empower teens to take on responsibilities. “Residents” will be responsible for decorating Town Hall and establishing rules of the town. Teen Town is the perfect place for local teens to hangout, meet friends, build skill sets, and enjoy their summer vacation. Visit www.wicomicokidsklub.org for more information.
If your child loves the outdoors, be sure to check out the summer nature camp at Pemberton Historical Park. There are several day camps offered for kids ages 4 to 14. Nature camps provide plenty of learning opportunities and tons of hands-on outdoor fun. Registrants receive a camp t-shirt and snacks and drinks are provided. Friends of Pemberton members receive a $10 discount on each camp session. To find out about the fun programs offered, please visit www.wicomicorecandparks.org or call Pemberton Park at 410-860-2447.
