The First Amendment states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” That’s unambiguous. Not “pretty unambiguous,” just unambiguous. Full stop. Yet governors across the country are ignoring or suspending almost every one of those rights enumerated at the top of the Bill of Rights, with little to no pushback from the press, which just happens to be the only part of the first two amendments not under assault.
It’s actually not under assault -- it’s gone -- suspended indefinitely in the name of “the common good.” Governors have declared coronavirus emergencies and wiped clean the rights our nation was founded for the purpose of putting those rights beyond the reach of government.
These suspensions were not done by vote; they were done with the stroke of a pen. Constitutionally, they can’t be done by either. There is no provision of the Constitution allowing for the waiving of rights under any condition, but most legislatures are content to sit back and watch this all proceed without their fingerprints anywhere near it.
Governors made a point of canceling Easter services, even at drive-in churches set up in parking lots. “You’re not allowed to leave your home,” they declared. The irony of placing innocent Americans under house arrest while releasing prisoners in the name of “compassion” was lost on journalists too busy expressing indignation that people might want to worship even in the face of a pandemic.

A war is coming and there won't be anything civil about it....smh MHO
So well said. Remember this in November.
We've been sitting on our butts for the past 15-20 years "allowing" our state, local, and federal elected officials take away our rights, and freedoms a little bit here and a little bit there. But hey, it didnt effect us directly, so it wasnt worth getting up off the sofa, or off the computer, big when ef did get mad, we just moaned and groaned to our friends, and yelled at the newsman on TV, WELL...here we are! WE NEED t ok never let this happen again! We need to ALL get involved. We need to track how they vote vs what they say, and hold their fee th to the fire. Most importantly, if we just vote for th ef candidate you've heard of without actually researching them, we also need
to vote in local, county, and state elections, in addition to the presidential elections, or we'll end up like Virginia!
BAM, I've been saying that! The article titled "HOGANS LAWS" blew my mind...He cant make laws!!!! We NEED to teach out to our Congressmen and DEMAND answers. Talk about overreach
Exactly. All of the stay at homes don’t realize what’s coming.
9:23 At this point we need and so lets get it started so we can get it over with and start working to fix everything!!!!!!
First of all the due-process clause of the 14th Amendment already extends the bill of rights to the states, so States must honor the 1st amendment. Having said that, the supreme court has stated numerous times hundreds even, that first amendment rights can be suspended if there is a danger to the public. "Clear and Present Danger Doctrine"
It is common sense that your rights have limits. For example, you can't murder someone and say its part of your religion (human Sacrifice). You also can't make threats and argue that it is free speech. The Court has never said that governors or presidents cannot limit rights. Those posts about Ex parte Milligan Section 98 that keep popping up are fake. There is no section 98
Democrats are jumping in joy over this virus because they are attempting to get the socialism they want. They are dictating and destroying the US Constitution. That is COMMUNISM.
11:24 Well, ya got 1 part correct...there is no section 98. ITS SECTION 71 of E. PARTE MILLIGAN Gonna have to give ya fail on that one. FYI 71 falls between 70 & 72
If you think VOTING matters then you aren’t paying attention!
Wake up
This is an ASSAULT on the population by tyrannical government
11:24...they are NOT honoring anything! They are not listening to us..the people unless you're a small group that follows their hidden agendas. It's common sense to not put up with BS like this but here we are....smh
I was referring to the fact that ex parte Milligan has nothing to do with states not being able to suspend rights. That part is made up. Im also not sure why you would think I don’t know how to count to 72 and I don’t know what you mean by I failed. Pease tell me you aren’t one of those people who believe those posts are real.
He is right though there is no section 98. I don’t know why you are calling him out on it.
That case you are talking about is about military courts. That has nothing to do with what’s going on right now so I’m not sure why you are bringing that up.
Ever hear of "STATES RIGHTS". It was the states that created the Federal government
