Does this mean the building is now declared “uninhabitable” until the mold has been completely removed?

Wow - can anything go right for SMS? Poor Terry Dunn is a good guy but he just can"t catch a break!

I guess county employees are exempt from the mold/mildew removal laws the rest of us in the building trades have to get certified for. Then again any idiot should know when dealing with mold the first thing is shut down your HVAC systems to prevent the spread of mold spores. Are they going to throughly clean the duct work now? I seriously doubt it! ...

How much money do we give these education FOOL'S EVERY YEAR?? Isn't it great to allow unqualified people run our schools because you grew up with them?

How and when did they figure out they were blowing mold through the HVAC?

Parents who’s kids go to that school just hit Jackpot! Time to get yourselves a lawyer.

Folks need to know about the number of SMS teachers and students that have developed lung issues over the years! Someone needs to answer forbthis.

Not surprised!
No preventive maintenance in the county schools
Let’s just tear it down and build a new one!

Remember all of those taxes they said they need for schools, ITS ALL FOR THE KIDS remember???? As the BOE gives pay raise after pay raise to each other, but remember it's all for the kids!!!!!

Time to tax the people a huge amount more and build a brand new school.

The fire department was just there a few days ago because of a bad HVAC unit on the roof that pumped smoke into the school. Joe has a post about it.

Read 12:30’s comment. Teachers and students have developed lung issues over the years breathing in that toxic mold.

Wicomico county has a long history of mold in county owned institutions, offices and public spaces.
They don’t seem to care until someone takes samples that test positive and files a MOSHA complaint.
Then they Publicly claim nothings wrong.
Meanwhile the reality is, during inspection the building, after decades of neglect and continuous pest and varmint control applications is declared a “sick” facility and remedial action quietly begins.
The directors put individual Mitsubishi air handlers in their offices and let the employees and citizens suffer, some severely with life ending illness.
The MOSHA inspector said “rank has its privileges”.
Wicomico County Library, 8 years ago.
It is still a roach and rodent haven heavily laden with decades of poison for both. The ducting has never been replaced and only spot cleaned.
The building is toxic.

Don't get rid of mold over nite and that school is open again tomorrow.

Don’t worry. The money once use for school construction in Wicomico County is now headed to the airport.

With all the problems that are happening in our schools, failing test scores and more than anything the high incidence of crime. Crime has never been this high in the Wicomico County School System until Donna Hanlin was hired as the Superintendent. Now we have an elected school board and the 7 elected miscreant voted unanimously to reappoint her as the Wicomico County BOE Superintendent. Donna Hanlin is the weakest and the worst Superintendent in the history of the Wicomico County Board of Education. The seven BOE members were too lazy and too weak to do a search for a new Superintendent.

The seven members of Wicomico County’s Board of Education unanimously reappointed Dr. Donna Hanlin today. She will serve another 4-year term as Superintendent.

In 2022 we have the choice to vote these clowns out of office. These so-called Republicans are a major disappointment to the Party. John Palmer, Ann Suthowski, Gene Malone and Tanya Laird Lewis. Tonya Laird Lewis has to get through the upcoming 2020 race to get re-elected and then run again for re-election in 2022. We are going to work overtime to make sure she doesn't get through the November election. BUH BYE Tonya!!

Super Bill F can solve this problem ! Just ask him!

That is not true. Two different revenue sources school construction dollars can only be spent on school construction.
