Music Recital featuring Bill Alexander

Come to Poplar Hill Mansion on Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 1:30-3:30 to hear 19th Century period music played on our beautiful Joshua Thurston Pianoforte. Through the generous contributions of supporters throughout our community, PHM was able to have the 1810 Pianoforte restored to playable condition. Bill Alexander is a local musician and retired organist from St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He still performs regularly with Canzona Diversa, a consort group featuring Baroque and Renaissance music.During the informal recital, Mr. Alexander will also be discussing the history of pianofortes and the music of the period and questions are welcome. This program is part of the Music at the Mansion Series. This is a free event, but donations are welcome with all proceeds going towards the preservation of Salisbury's Oldest House, Poplar Hill Mansion, a 501(c)-3. Walk-ins welcome, no RSVP required.
