Yesterday evening I was on my way to Nanticoke when I say the road closed sign. Ahead of me was several cars going around. Thinking they knew where the detour was (no detour signs) I followed them. When I got to the blocked part of the road I turned on the road to the right. Once on the road as I'm driving I see water on the road. As I'm not familiar with the area I assumed it was not very deep. The further I went it got deeper, at one point the water was coming over the hood of the car. No signs indicating high water!! I was scared to death as I saw it was almost to the window of the car. I had to make a decision to go forward as I couldn't turn around. Does anyone know why there wasn't any detour signs or high water signs?

11:15 - sounds like you ended up on Oliver Drive. Based on your ignoring the road closed sign, your insurance probably won't cover your damages (and they shouldn't)!
Realistically, if you didn't know the area, you should have stopped at the road closed sign and turned on to Crooked Oak!

It was obvious after the time they "fixed" the problem that it was only a matter of time till the next flood. The water level stayed higher than it had been prior to the fix and there was nothing draining through to the other side. There have been at least 2 large trees that have fallen down and needed to be removed from the side the water is supposed to drain to. I agree with 10:12, do it right this time.

But you said there was a ROAD CLOSED sign. Please turn in your driver license ASAP. You're a hazard!

Lmao. That was an idiot trap that obviously failed. Do you really rely on signs to protect yourself and property? Don’t y’all see

South Division is closed at Morris Mill Rd. too. But everyday I see idiots who can't seem to read the sign long before the closure. Always some idiot turning around in the MIDDLE of the road to go back. Open your eyes and pay attention to your driving people. It will be a safer area if you do so around us safe driving people.
