The Hill reported that Trump’s budget would cut funding for CPB — which funds public television and radio stations such as PBS and NPR — over two years.
“To conduct an orderly transition away from Federal funding, the Budget requests $15.5 million in 2019 and $15 million in 2020, which would include funding for personnel costs of $16.2 million, rental costs of $8.9 million; and other costs totaling $5.4 million,” according to the proposal.
“CPB grants represent a small share of the total funding for the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and National Public Radio (NPR), which primarily rely on private donations to fund their operations,” the proposal continued.

Publishers Notes: GOOD! Let the Liberals pony up the cash to keep these programs afloat.

Especially since they push the liberal agenda! No more funding for you!
If so much of the news is fake, why in the world would we pay somebody to give us MORE fake news? Shut these people down.
Obama is GONE. We don't need his propaganda machine any longer.
Good. They got their jump start and leg up, now it's sink or swim.
AWESOME - make them stand on their own with donations not our tax$
They are not fair and balanced. Let George Soros and the liberals pay out of pocket and don't use my out of pocket tax dollars. GO TPUMP.
It is about time. Actually listened to this trash today. Misfits that work there will need to find real jobs.
Great news! If the feds give money to the CPB then it should be given to the EIB network, as well.
What? You don't know what EIB is?

Good for Trump! I have always said if you love the arts and entertainment world, then support it. If not, then don't. That includes tax dollars that could be spent toward more important causes.
Yeah, I don't want children watching sesame street or other children's programing if their parents don't have cable.
It is time. MPT's programming has become a wasteland. And a waste of money. They beg for money, then show 10 year old programs.
next - the AD COUNCIL!
9:12, YES!!!! Please stop this waste of money ASAP!
I actually like some of the programming on PBS but they need to get out of the news business. If they did I would support them.
I very much enjoy the non-political content on NPR but it is getting fewer and farther between. Now it's like they will find a way to bash or blame Trump no matter what the subject is. The other day I heard this and decided I am done:
"Up next why is media coverage of the anti-Trump movement decreasing and is it time to take things further. After that we will discuss the craziest right wing conspiracies."
This is why the snowflakes are so crazy. They listen to this garbage all day and they think it's real. Sorry snowflakes, the news is the most fictional show on television.
NOR National Propaganda Radio with shows like A Few Things Considered and PBS, Pure Bull Sh!? all of which should not be publicly funded.
This great president does us some good each day. Remember he said we are going to get tired of winning. He is a piece of work...love him!
8:48 I don't think you DO want children watching Sesame Street anymore. It isn't the same as it was in the 70's and 80's. But if you really do want kids to keep watching Sesame Street then put your money where your mouth is.
9:10 Its better than putting them in front of a video game teaching them how to shoot up their school.
As I keep saying and have told WSCL- if they would JUST play classical music and drop the NPR I would gladly give them my money, Heck, I dont even mind a bit of my taxpayer dollars supporting classical music. But I will NOT support the liberal bias and smug attitudes of NPR.
Why would companies (NPR,PBS) receive Federal dollars when they provide stock dividends? They are for profit organizations.
TRUMP!
TRUMP!
TRUMP!
Love it!
