Local Baby Formula Scam

I keep seeing people selling formula on facebook. It makes me wonder. Most people don't go out and buy that many cans at once. Those cans are not cheap. I priced them on Amazon and you can get 6 cans for about $100. There are 10 cans in the picture. So why is someone trying to sell them online? Why not just take it back to the store she bought it from and exchange it if the child is now using another formula. Well some stores have caught on to the scam that is being played. They use food stamps or wic to buy the formula and then return it to the store to try to either get money back or store credit. I found this out about a month ago when I tried to return a food product at Walmart that was spoiled when I opened it. They wouldn't even allow me store credit which is what usually happens when you don't have a receipt. I had to get the same exact item that I was returning. I asked them why and they said because of the EBT card. After that it made sense why I was seeing people selling formula. So do you think these are just people that bought the wrong formula or are these people abusing the system?

Heads up to Toys R Us. You are losing money! Giving store credit to someone that didn't buy the product from you.

I bet they got that with wic. It's sad seeing someone else abusing a program that some people need and don't abuse. If you don't need them any longer donate them to Halo!!

Hellllloooooo? This has been going on for YEARS. And I don't work in a grocery store, I just see it going on in front of me. They buy all this formula with their WIC card, which takes forever to get checked out at the grocery, THEN they return it, which takes another forever in the line and go buy steaks or frozen dinners that don't have to be cooked ( prepared like a normal meal ) and cooked. It's a "system", they know it better than anyone else and they're getting away with it! It's working great!
Another scams they're doing you want to know about? I've heard and seen them all.

You think this is bad,you should see all the stuff at the flea markets.Overheard on seller telling another that on liquid products she uses about 1/4 of it and fills it back with water or another type of liquid.

That is even scarier. Who knows what they could fill it with. The sad part is the person that is trying to buy it cheaper because they don't get it free.

I see people returning TP and bottle of soda for cash at Walmart. You know they want the cash for drugs.

No they are not getting this stuff from WIC or EBT. It's coupon fraud.

There is definitely a "system" but your description is flawed. EBT cards can be used to everything you mentioned. They sell the food stamps .50 on the dollar and use the cash to buy whatever they want with...blunts beer shoes. Or they o as this post states get expensive items and resell them cheaper to get the cash. Or collect wic benefits get the formula with the vouchers, sell it and then go to churches to get hand out formula.
