'Racially insensitive': Theater pulls Gone with the Wind

'Gone With The Wind' has been pulled from a Memphis theater after patrons complained the 1939 Civil War classic is racially insensitive.

The Orpheum Theatre Group made the decision after patrons took issue with the screening of the movie starring Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara on August 11.

'As an organization whose stated mission is to 'entertain, educate and enlighten the communities it serves', the Orpheum cannot show a film that is insensitive to a large segment of its local population,' the theater's operators said in a statement according to News Ch. 3.

I am so glad they pulled this "racist classic". Keep going and destroy all reference to slavery, then it will mean that they will have to earn a living and won't have ANYTHING to the riot, burn loot for. Be careful what you wish for, it might come true. No, that's not right. They will riot, burn and loot because all reference to slavery has been removed so they will have NO ROOTS. Guess who they will blame then?

Let's also remove the book and movie Color Purple, and all the roads and highways named "Martin Luther King" and all the "Negro Colleges" etc etc etc. So sick of all of this foolishness! and they wonder why people are disgusted and have no patience with them. Get a freaking job, get off your ass and do something for the good and for yourself cause with the grace of God (yes I said God) your handouts are soon coming to an end! Then there won't be time to riot, burn and complain. You will either work or you will be very hungry! You might should use your time wisely and look for gainful employment!

But no one complains about "Dance's with Wolves".

This was a great classic movie. It is so ridiculous to not show it just because a small number of people think it is politically incorrect. I think we have carried this political correctness thing too far. It is time to stand up and say I don't care what a few people think a majority of America believes it to be okay. If you are offended by the movie then, by all means, don't go see it. But that should not keep it from the majority of people that do want to see it. It is time for the people of this country to step up and say we are not going to take it anymore. All this politically correct B.S. has to stop. And it is time to let the majority rule like it should be in a Democracy. Believe me, those snowflakes will survive without all the politically correct B.S.

They took off Bugs Bunny/Daffy Duck YEARS ago, whats next to pull, "Our Gang/Little Rascals"???

Slowly this country is getting closer to a very bad Civil War and those with big mouths will have nothing and those nice/quiet keeping to themselves (stock piling for this day) will come out winners!

If you don't like a book, movie, play or certain music then by all means you are free to go do something you do like but to take away my "pursuit of happiness" by limiting what plays, books or movies I can enjoy is unconstitutional and flat out communistic and socialist ideology. If that is what these people want then I will surely help with a plane ticket to what ever socialist/communist country they want to go reside in where everyone is treated the same and the government will take care of everything they needed to be from housing to work. They WILL TELL you what job you will do, where youcan live, travel and what you will have to eat, just not here in America. We don't ban movies or plays nor do we burn books (yet).

If you ever wondered what Nazi Germany or Bolshevik Russia was like, now you're living it right here in America. Enjoy!

Does anyone remember when The Hallmark Channel ran Gone With The Wind?
One word in one of the most famous lines in movie history was bleeped out. ("Frankly Scarlett, I don't give a damn!")
"Damn" was bleeped out.
So now there's a segment of the population that might think that Rhett Butler may have said, "Frankly Scarlett, I don't give a s--t!"
Or worse!

Remember when the book Little Black Sambo was pulled from schools? Isn't it odd that it had nothing to do with blacks. Sambo was Indian from India. And there are and never have been wild tigers in Africa!

I hope they replace it with Blazing Saddles

This is going to get violent soon.
I don't need, want, or ask for their permission to hear a song or see a movie that THEY don't approve of...
They are never going to stop until they have "cleansed" the USA of everything that offends them. These people can't write a sentence and think THEY get to say what is acceptable in this country???
Man.

What a bunch of dumbasses! (sorry Joe; please let this slip through).

In 1940 Gone With The Wind had 13 Oscar nominations, and won 8 Oscars.

Notable in light of the snowflake bleat that got this showing cancelled: Hattie McDaniel won Best Supporting Actress (first African-American, (Negro, Black to cover all bases) to be so honored.

Shows the clueless level of the SJWs. Couple of months before actual Dunkirk; month before Pelosi born; 8 years before Pelosi's dad accepted the statues of Lee & Jackson; 14 years before Brown v Board of Education; 24 years before Civil Rights Act of 1964 passed; etc.

Frankly, Scarlett, I don't give a ....!

While we're doing some old jokes:
Reports say that the NAACP bought the rights to "The Amos & Andy Show" and said they would no longer air it due to the racist content.
Meanwhile, reports say that the KKK bought the rights to Alex Haley's "Roots", and said that they will show it - but play it backwards so "it has a happy ending".
