Verify: Is a speeding ticket invalid if the state trooper isn't wearing a hat?

WASHINGTON (WUSA) - QUESTION:

  1. If a state trooper issues a ticket without wearing his or her hat, is the ticket invalid?
  2. Virginia highways have signs that say, "speeding enforced by aircraft." Does Virginia State Police have airplanes that give out speeding tickets?
  3. Can you drive above the speed limit without getting a ticket?

Y N T H do you spend so much time berating police for giving speeding tickets. If you are speeding you deserve a ticket. Stop giving locals more stupid excuses for believing LEO is wrong. What is your problem?

50% of traffic stop result in warnings, so yeah you can drive above the limit and not get a ticket.

Use the Waze app. Cops ans other hazards are located by other Waze users ahead of you. Cops should not be stationary and speed trapping. There is a more likely chance of cops observing a crime while in motion than sitting on the side of the road. This app requires cops to move around in order to not be accurately located. The people using this app will force police practices to evolve, because they have chosen not to evolve on their own.

If you wear a tinfoil hat while driving, the radar won't be able to lock on.

So you are promoting unsafe driving in order to not get caught driving unsafely? Waze is the dumbest app yet for locating police presence. They could care less about waze.

Next time you receive a speeding ticket because of your arrogance to obey the speed limit, try explaining to the judge that your Waze app. failed you.

Oh yes and the most famous of them all "you can't arrest me you never read me my rights!"

LOL, I trust the hundreds of others using Waze that this guy is talking about before I'd trust a radar detector. And if anyone is failing, it's officers that hide behind shrubs and get tagged on a simple GPS program.

Statutory Law is not Constitutional.
Period.

Long story short, yes it is valid if no hat is worn. Any law is constitutional until and if it is challenged in a court of law and found to be unconstitutional. Saying so on a shoulder of a road will not get you out of a ticket.

The result: you will either have to pay the fine or take it to court, which most likely you will still have to pay the fine.
