Amazon Offers Discounted Monthly Prime Membership For Some Low Income Customers

Americans who receive assistance from the government could soon receive a bit from Amazon, too: The e-commerce giant announced that it will provide a monthly Prime membership discount to customers who have an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.

I think it's time to start to move away from Amazon

So those of us who make a REAL living, working hard every day dont get a discount, but sit on your rear and steal tax payers money people do? Might have to tell Amazon to shove it.

Go to Jet.com, forget Amazon.

Jet is owned by walmart. Shop wisely!

I might also start looking elsewhere to do my business. I have prime, and I don't get two day shipping anymore. Items I have ordered through prime sometimes take up to a week now to arrive. They say two day shipping, but that really isn't true.

I'm hearing more and more about Jet.com. Interesting and without additional fees.

If you have an EBT card, you should NOT be able to afford anything on Amazon - unless you give up food and starve to death. We're giving these EBT teat-suckers too much money if they can afford Ciggies, booze, drugs, bling-rims, iphones or 50" TV's!

Amazon bought jet so good luck.

856 - ugh.

So, EBT holders have enough spare money to spend on internet access, computer and cell phone, and shop for more on Amazon and now want "Prime" above that?????

Thanks for the info on JET. I will use that instead of Amazon. I am sick of all the free handouts.

Welcome to America. The country that actually prefers to pay people NOT to work.

Just cancelled my membership and told them it was bad customer service that I have to pay twice as much for the same service and benefits.

You should stop shopping at any business that takes EBT.
