Known as "The greatest show of earth," Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus announced earlier this year that operations costs and declining ticket sales have forced the company to close.
According to the Associated Press, the final performance in Uniondale, New York will be streamed live on the company websiteand through Facebook. The show will begin at 7 p.m. on May 21.
The circus's vice president, Sam Gomez said they will present the circus in a way that is more pleasing for people watching on a phone or tablet.

I have to say, I am glad all the
animals will not have to spend
their lives in cages , tied up,
shackled or prodded. They were
never meant to live out their lives
like that.

Very sad to see this happen. Many wonderful memories of this famous Circus.
Everyone comes on here outraged over how dogs and cats are treated but will pay to see elephants and tigers abused.
Sad another entertainment families enjoyed, now those animals that you think are so mistreated will leave out their lives in small cages!

Most will go to sanctuaries where the are allowed to roam in natural habitats like all most all zoo now have rather than cages. You probably don't get out much or travel to a real zoo like in San Diego.
