Police commission leaves trailer parking ban on books

With Cruisin’ Ocean City a week away, the Police Commission on Monday will stay the course and keep the resort’s trailer-parking enforcement policy intact.

Police Chief Ross Buzzuro told the commission that sticking with the plan would mean giving officers the power to use discretion on when to give someone the $250 ticket for parking a trailer on public streets or parking lots without a permit between May 1 to Oct. 31. No trailers are allowed to park on Baltimore Avenue, no matter what time of year.

“We look at each violation to see if it’s a true violation, and the officer can handle it accordingly,” he said. Buzzuro also addressed earlier arguments about dividing officers’ focus. “The extra time officers spend there will be used to see if a situation is occurring.”

What ever, cops don't use discretion unless it is a fellow officer breaking the law, then they will go out of their way to not ticket or arrest or abuse them....

Not true in Ocean City. Skateboarding is practically legal since officers started using discretion.

Geesh people, you don't need to have trailer parking in downtown OC. Sorry but if you want to park those things there's plenty of spaces in the North to accommodate them. Downtown OC has enough trouble with people having parking issues that trailers are just a nuisance. Normally, I'm not with the OC city hall but on this subject can see where they want to free up space for people in cars and regular vehicles to park during the summer season. You people are never satisfied with anything anyone does. If you're inconvenienced the least little bit, you cry like a bunch of 8 years old whose mommy just told them to put back a candy bar in Walmart. Its really ridiculous. You come to a resort area that's overrun with traffic and people during the season and expect to be able to park your big-ass trailer wherever you want. Then, you damn the man claiming it's all about money when you fail to realize your big-ass trailer inconveniences many other people. Use your brains. You look like morons, for God's sake. Spoiled petulant brats.

If you don't like the OC parking police, here's a novel idea, don't go there!
