In less than a month, the US Coast Guard seized 16 tons of cocaine worth $420 million in a South and Central American drug bust, according to reports on Tuesday.
The street value of the drugs was reportedly more than $1 billion.
“The drugs were found over a 26-day period through 17 drug-smuggling interdictions along Central and South America,” said Coast Guard officials, “and more than 30 alleged drug smugglers were arrested.”
Coast Guard and Canadian ships working with the Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment team patrolled the coasts, with the biggest seizures made by the Coast Guard Cutter James and the Coast Guard’s helicopter squad.

Man the toys they can grab with 420 million. Of course they have to sell it for cash, they could each have a ski boat for parades. Invade The River Wicomico at Christmas.
The Clinton's drugs coming to the streets of the USA
Just one question, Why? We have local legislators pushing to legalize this garbage yet we spend tons of money to stop brining it in. I think the cartels have gotten to our local elected officials.
Outstanding! Stop that Heroin! I hope they got that and the coke. It will be nice to learn what they stopped, but there's still so much getting through, it makes one one wonder if this makes any difference in the big picture. Is this 20% or 1%?
Now thats a drug bust.
Nobody is pushing for the legalization of cocaine...
.5% and US govt competition
These are definitely not the 16 tons that Tennessee Ernie Ford sang about.
My question is what will they do with all those drugs? How do they dispose of so many drugs?
Comment makes no sense.

"the US Coast Guard seized 16 tons of cocaine worth $420 million"
Did you know that cocaine isn't heroin?

Where have you seen that legislators are trying to legalize cocaine?
14 million people could buy 1 gram of cocaine from that shipment.
32 thousand police officers each take a pound home and flush it. Sometimes it takes several thousand departments.
8:32 PM - think a big controlled fire, something that every fireman, paid and volunteer, would love to be a part of.
