This Could Have Been Salisbury, But It Was Your Election To Lose. How Are Those Bike Paths Working For You?

The 3 bike riders in this city might like them, but certainly not worth the money spent... But hey, it is all for the kids right?

Sure. SanAntonio population 1,409,019 with 32 million tourists per year and a $97 billion GDP. I doubt that Salisbury 's population of 30,343 would support this. It's nice to dream big but I don't think we lost anything in the last election.

8:25, You are so wrong.

San Antonio wasn't always 1.4 million in population, it built to that after creating the MAN MADE River Walk. Salisbury's is natural, no man made.

They say, "build it and they will come". One only needs to look at a little town like Berlin to realize Salisbury is a no brainer investment wise. Taking advantage of being so close to Ocean City from THREE different directions as you pass through Salisbury, it's a grand slam home run.

Just ONE anchor facility like The Great Wolf Lodge, (indoor water park) would close the deal as well.

You have to think out of the box and guess what, none of the funding would come out of taxpayers pockets.

Tilghman, Ireton and Day are proven failures. It's not just Joe Albero saying so, it's the end result of their lack of ability to create RELIEF to taxpayers as well as economic development.

Sadly a project like this video isn't done overnight. It takes years of vision and creativity. The mere FACT that your current and former Mayors have NOT shown the River Walk as the most PRIME part of Salisbury's future is just ridiculous.

Salisbury, Maryland, "The Cross Hairs of Delmarva".

8:25 AM Gotta start somewhere.

It seems you are saying, well, since we are not that ambitious, wasting the money on bike paths is ok?

SanAntonio did not start out as a 1.4M population.

If you build it they will come.

Must be another complacent born here, which explains it all.

Joed idea and repurposing the old mall into a bigger concert venue. (Bulldoze civic center for multi level parking) would also bring jobs and growth.

No Jake. Your HIRED group of full time defenders are not going to get their comments through on here. You, (and your people) are welcome to e-mail me directly but you are not going to hide behind anonymous. Nice try.

9:15 AM, I am curious as to what happened to the big plans that fell thru, resulting in that big dirt pile in the parking lot.

I'm a come here, years ago, and tried to walk along the river one warm evening. OMG. It smelled bad, flies were swarming the overflowing trash cans, and it was NOT safely lit up. It would be a great area if it was cleaned up and had little pop up stands for snacks and shops!

I am not a environmentalist wacko, but when the Ireton kid ran his campaign on cleaning up the Wicomico River,to the point of swimming in it, I was for it. Remembering swimming in it as a child I was thrilled to hear this. That and Mrs. Campbell supporting this dude, I thought we had a winner before he kicked her in the teeth. Well, what you smell is the remains of his tour of duty as leader of this once great town. I'm sure and hope I'm wrong, but I can't remember a great mayor here going back to the days of Martin and earlier. Sad, that you didn't witness how it once was here years ago.
