Wicomico County Executive Announces Appointment of Weston S. Young, P.E. as Wicomico County Assistant Director of Administration

Salisbury, MD … Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver has appointed Weston S. Young, P.E. as the new Assistant Director of Administration.

Young most recently served as the County’s Director of Public Works, a role he assumed in April of 2015 after being promoted from Deputy Director of Public Works. During his tenure, Young managed the $8M Morris Mill water tank and distribution line project, provided an innovative and long term solution to the dredging of the Wicomico River and produced a significant improvement in the Solid Waste Division financial sustainability.

Young attended the University of Maryland, College Park where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 2005 and is a Professional Engineer licensed in Maryland and Virginia.

Publishers Notes: Not for nothing Ladies & Gentlemen but this has to be the best move County Executive Bob Culver has done to date. While I know the majority of you don't know Weston or his background but there's no doubt in my mind that he will be chosen for many years and many leaders to continue in this position. Wicomico County is very fortunate to have him.

Pound sand. He justified his salary seversl times over in the landfill and recycle projects alone.
And what price would you put on demonstrating and expecting a work ethic culture?

8:02 No one working for the government local or federal is "entitled" to a salary that can not be reviewed by taxpayers...now you probably live off EBT cards so you could care less about COUNTY department cost. I DO! So shut the hell up!

No. Actually I am a deplorable self made taxpayer that is very much aware of ROI.
Asking is easy. Understanding and evaluating the relevance of the answer is a wholly different question
Stay on the couch please and let those that do it well - do.

Damn!!! Hate to loose him from his last job, We didn't always agree, but he was usuall right. This is a great move for Wicomico County. He has quietly earned the respect of his department heads, and controlled cost.
This is a great move , long term. Regardless o who the County Exec is.
