Confirming once again that war, to those who are sent to fight them, is absolute hell, newly released Pentagon statistics show that suicide — not combat — is the leading killer of US troops deployed to the Middle East.
According to a report in USA Today this week, of the 31 troops who have died as of Dec. 27 in Operation Inherent Resolve, 11 have taken their own lives. Eight died in combat, seven in accidents and four succumbed to illness or injury.
These new numbers confirm a trend that’s been in place since the beginning of the prolonged occupation of the Middle East.
Earlier this year, the DoD released a similar report from 2014 that revealed some startling numbers. In all of 2014, a total of 55 US troops, in both hostile and non-hostile situations, lost their lives in foreign occupations. The number of soldiers who killed themselves was nearly 5 times that amount.
According to the DoD report, in 2014, there were 269 deaths by suicide among active component service members (compared to 259 deaths by suicide in 2013).
As bureaucratic fatcats sit back from their lush taxpayer-funded offices in giant marble buildings debating on whether or not to send more troops to the Middle East, this crisis is being ignored. Partly due to the fact that they can’t seem to figure out why troops are killing themselves, the military ‘experts’ are unable to reverse it.

I know Vietnam War vets also had a higher rate of suicide. But I wonder what the rates were for COMBAT soldiers of WWII.
Today, is prescription for medicine making it worse? Is it society devaluing human life? Is it the soldiers' hardship at home with wayward spouses and no jobs to go to?
For any of these possibilities, the article was right in saying the best way to support the soldier is to oppose the war.
Wars never seem to accomplish what they set out to do. And the adage is true that says " The first casualty of war is the Truth."
It changes you and at the same time you're left behind, mostly unknowingly, naively and without malice, by those who don't and can never understand.
Why dont they ask BIG PHARMA why the anti depressants are killing people. LEGALIZE POT NOW!!You all better wake up..big pharma is the problem.!!!
All because of those "Safe Zones" and "Crying Rooms", in schools, we are turning out a bunch of babies that can't take a dose of reality.

I don't believe they should be doing experiments with vaccines on the soldiers. Just because a person naively agreed to help kill Muslims, doesn't mean he / she want to be part of the experiments to help Big Pharma make money.

Stop the PC crap and start telling the kids the truth, Muslims are out to kill us, foreigners hate us, and our way of life, kill them or they will kill us.
Killing the enemies of America is good, and right!
Also point out that the 10 commandments actually says, "Thou shall not Murder", it was changed during one of the several translations, killing is fine, murder is not.
