Herman Cain lashed out at the “Never Trump” crowd Monday, saying Republicans need to swallow their pride and unite behind the party’s presumptive nominee.
“Mitt [Romney] and all of the anti-Trump, ‘never Trump’ folk, look behind you,” Mr. Cain, a former presidential candidate and Fox News contributor, said on “Fox & Friends,” The Hill reported.
“There is no army. What they hear are the voices of these resistance people pushing against the presumptive nominee. There’s no army back there,” he continued. “The message is, you’re talking to yourselves. Get your egos out of the way and get behind the presumptive nominee.
“All of the people … who signed the pledge to back the presumptive nominee, now they’re going back on their word,” he added. “This is why people don’t like the establishment. They say one thing, they’ll do something else expecting the public to have very short memories.”

Dave T: Thank you Mr. Cain for speaking your mind and using the voice of reason. I couldn't agree with you more. And thank you SBY News for publishing this piece. Wake up GOP ! This election is not about you and your special interests, so get off your pedestal, drop your ego, and get some sense. It is pathetic at best to see the greatest the resistance in this election process not coming from competitors, but from the candidate's own party! That to me is simply inexcusable. As for Paul Ryan, no one should have to ask you to step down, do it yourself for dereliction of duty since you are incapable of acting like a leader while holding a leadership role. It's quite disappointing to see a grown man acting like a small child. How you ascended to your current position is beyond me. Paul Ryan is about as helpful as Harry Reid, which isn't saying much.
great post and reply
I think Herman Cain would be a great VP candidate.
I'll happily ditto both 4:08 and 5:12! Great commentary!
And this split by the establishment has-beens will only cause Hillary to win.
Yeah, Herman!
When the rest of the Republican kingmakers thought Trump would start a third party candidacy if he lost the primaries to someone they THOUGHT would beat him, the pledge was their way of corralling him.
They NEVER intended to honor it themselves.
Like everything else the Republican "leaders" do to try to stop him, it blew up in their face.
Because they keep IGNORING the PEOPLE!
Keep doing it.....
