How Donald Trump's victory might affect the FBI headquarters competition

The future FBI headquarters belongs in Prince George’s County, its leaders say, and logic dictates that Democrat Hillary Clinton’s shocking loss in Tuesday’s presidential election benefits Maryland in that huge competition.

That is, assuming the competition goes on. Donald Trump, a real estate developer and the next president of the United States, is a wild card. We simply don't know what he's going to do. But here's our best guess.

Clinton is a close friend of Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, and her running mate, Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, is a former governor of the commonwealth. It stands to reason that if Clinton had defeated Trump, it would have significantly boosted Virginia's shot at landing the 2.4 million-square-foot FBI headquarters.

I would hope the President Elect would first examine if the building is really necessary. One, you don't build new offices when you're deep in debt. Two, instead of a new government office building we could build a new manufacturing plant to generate jobs and taxable income.

Betz you don't realize how difficult and expensive it is to bring an old building up to date with the modern technology that it required by the FBI. Trump is the President - let him do his job and critique it afterwards.

Trump is an expert at refurbishing old buildings so it only makes sense to let him evaluate the situation and make the decision based on monetary reasons not political reasons.
