4 for a dollar Swanson tv dinners. We thrived on them. Some made right here in town.

They had green vegetables in them! Now, that's hard to find... all starches. No wonder America is so obese!

The ham was the best. The sauce or gravy or whatever it was floating in was delicious!

The Salisbury Steak had mashed potatoes and corn. No green vegetable in that one. I think the Hungry Man brand was supposed to be a larger serving of everything. Gimme more carbs!

As children we loved them but Mother thought they were junk so rarely bought them unless we insisted. The Salisbury Steak was great. I will buy one of the Hungry Man brand Salisbury Steaks every so often.
Fox News' Tucker Carlson's adoptive mother is Patricia Swanson heiress to the Swanson food fortune.

We moved into a rural Somerset County home some years back, and in the woods behind the house was a three foot high, eight foot wide pile of TV dinner trays covered with brush. They must have eaten them every day for years.

I looked forward to the Mexican dinners that I think Old El Paso made. That was a rare treat and considered special in our meat and potato household. Boy how times have changed.
