This sort of thing happens more than one would think.
Some rap/hip-hop/thug group misrepresents the reason for the hall rental ("Birthday"; "Family Reunion"; "Class Reunion", etc.)to be able to obtain use of the hall.
Management, in fear of being branded racist, comply and issue an agreement.
What then goes on is an event with drug sales, prostitution, and other illegal activities, in a hall devoid of any authorities - such as police.
This has happened no less than three times in Ocean City over the past 10 years, and has always resulted in chaos.

"shocking incident"???? no,, I don't think so. Whenever large groups of people gather past midnight (2AM????, who the hell stays up that ;ate unless you are working the 3rd shift or up to no good) trouble always happens. Mostly younger crew or blacks. Its not racist - its a cultural fact. Large groups of blacks simply cannot gather together without machismo, perceived "disrespect", an accidental bump or simply looking at someone wrong causes this type of incident. It happens everywhere - even in Salisbury. Look at the African American Legion/VFW off Rt. 50 and its history. Damn shame someone has to lose their life because of what?????? pick one of the above.

A family event?? Real nice family. If they don't get along any better than this, they need to stay home.
