OCPD Requesting Assistance in Armed Robbery Investigation

OCEAN CITY, MD – (June 16, 2016): The Ocean City Police Department Criminal Investigation Division Major Crimes Unit is currently seeking assistance from the public in an attempt to identify three suspects who were involved in an armed robbery that took place on June 14, 2016, at the Tidelands Caribbean Hotel, located at 409 Atlantic Avenue.

The investigation revealed that during the incident the victim was struck by an expandable baton. It is also believed that one of the suspects displayed a silver revolver-style handgun with a wooden handle during the incident.

The suspects are described as follows:
Suspect 1: White male with short, dark hair, in his late teens to early 20’s, with a thin build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a backpack.
Suspect 2: Black male with short dreadlocks, in his late teens to early 20’s with a thin build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white t-shirt with a South Carolina Gamecocks emblem.
Suspect 3: White male with shoulder-length dark hair and a larger build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a maroon t-shirt with a Kutztown University emblem.

During the investigation, officers obtained photographs of the suspects, which are attached to this news release. Citizens that may recognize the suspects or have information about the incident are asked to contact Detective Nick Simpson at 410-520-5349 ornsimpson@oceancitymd.gov. Citizens may also visit oceancitymd.gov/police to submit a tip. All tips may remain anonymous.
