Shore Craft Beer Fest Comes to Downtown Salisbury

Shore Craft Beer Fest Comes to Downtown Salisbury

City Seeks Design Submissions for Event Tee Shirts

Salisbury – Mayor Jake Day is pleased to announce that the City has partnered with Shore Craft Beer and Delmarva Public Radio to present the 2016 Shore Craft Beer Fest and Riverwalk Celebration on Saturday, June 18th in Downtown Salisbury.  This one-of-a-kind event will bring music, art, food, and the best craft beer on the peninsula to the City’s beautifully renovated Riverwalk.

Founded in 2014 with the aim of making the Eastern Shore a craft beer destination, Shore Craft Beer have quickly become the peninsula’s most recognizable advocates of all things locally-brewed.  For this event they have put together a who’s who lineup of local micro and craft breweries which will serve only locally produced products.  The festival will also feature food trucks, live music from the band Eastern Electric, a plein air painting event, pottery throwing, a home brewing tent, and specially brewed Salisbury hometown beer.

Unique to this year’s event will be a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil and celebrate renovations to Salisbury’s Riverwalk.  The soon-to-be-completed $1.5 million update has been underway since the fall, and includes both cosmetic and structural fixes to the 40 year-old pedestrian walkway.

“Shore Craft Beer Fest is a great fit for Downtown Salisbury, and it presents the perfect opportunity for us to cut the ribbon on our beautiful new Riverwalk,” said Mayor Day.  “I’m excited to invite residents and visitors to come sample local craft brews and enjoy what we hope will become a summer family tradition in our Downtown.”

To help promote and commemorate the Riverwalk ribbon cutting, the City is seeking design submissions for tee shirts which will be available at the event.  Designs must focus primarily on the Riverwalk, but may incorporate the Shore Craft Beer Fest.  If you’re artistically inclined (or if you know someone who is), original artwork is due no later than June 1.  Submissions can be any medium, any size.  Physical works may be mailed to the Mayor’s Office at the address below.  To submit your design electronically, email it to cdemone@salisbury.md

Hey Jake, are you PAYING the winning artist, or is this another give it to me for free scam from the City after you make money off the tee shirts? Considering you used out of state artists for your other projects rebranding Salisbury, I think you should let us all know in advance.

I'm so sick of this craft brew micro brew push on the lower shore. It amazes me how these guys can get any amount of business funding and cuty/county support to promote alcohol consumption and addiction but anyone else has to scratch and claw to try and launch anything other. What exactly does this say about our region?? We obviously are what the statistics say a bunch of drunks and dope fiends!!! UNREAL

I have lived here for 25 yrs and the shore has always been a bunch of drunks.

pretty bad when you have to get drunk to have the courage or interest to come downtown.

I hope they don't forget the man responsible for this project, former City Engineer and Public Works Director Pete Cooper.
