Election and Appointment of Members of the Board of Education

On April 26, 2016, Governor Larry Hogan signed Senate Bill 145, which will take effect on July 1, 2016. This legislation will give qualified voters of Wicomico County the opportunity to vote, at the 2016 General Election, on how members of the Wicomico County Board of Education are to be selected. There are three options: (1) Retain the current system, Appointed School Board, in which the Governor appoints the members, (2) Fully Elected Board (5 Districts & 2 At-Large), or (3) Hybrid Board (5 elected by Districts, 2 At-Large appointed by the Wicomico County Council). Go with a fully elected school board. Job #1: Chase that miserable Kathy Townsend out. She left Delmar when the school board election did not go her way. Very weak character.
