WBAL-TV reports that a Baltimore City police sergeant who was arrested on New Year's morning after what a police report describes as a high-speed chase has been released on bond.
Sgt. Francisco Hopkins was off duty at the time of the incident, which was reported around 3 a.m. Friday. The police report says he made it known right away that he is a police officer.
The incident started as a routine traffic stop on Pulaski Highway near Golden Ring. A state trooper pulled over a car for failing to display a front tag.
According to the trooper's report, the encounter escalated fast.
In the report, the trooper quoted the driver as saying, "Your (sic) going to give another cop a ticket?"
"He called me an (expletive) then accelerated, aggressively spinning (his) wheels," the report says.

Gotta luv rat cops locking up another cop.
I wonder if he will be dealt with or if he will still have a job.
Pointy headed cop is going to squall "racism", no matter what. I guess he thought he was above the law.
Md is full of Rat Cops.
Your both disgusting. Rat cops? You mean good cops who don't allow crooked cops? You two show the true colors of law enforcement here on the shore!
I don't believe this officer should have a job any longer with the police force. Officers should be setting examples, not acting like a jerk. If your head is so big that you believe you are above the law, you are the right person for the job.
Again, MD Troopers setting the bar and not letting this guy slide because he pulled the "I'm a cop" card! Laws are laws, way to go state police!
These clowns are from the eastern shore born and bread. What did you expect? ? CLASS??

Thank you!
"Hopkins was released on bond. He's suspended with pay."
This is definitely wrong! Sounds like the Wicomico County Board of Education.
