BALTIMORE (AP) — A federal lawsuit filed against Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore claims contracts for the construction of the casino were not sufficiently awarded to minority businesses, even though the project received federal housing funds earmarked for that purpose.
The Daily Record of Baltimore reports (http://bit.ly/1SxhYpB) the complaint was filed Thursday by Celestial Concrete Inc., the Maryland Business Clergy Partnership and an unnamed individual. The plaintiffs say rather than providing contracting opportunities for minority businesses and training and employment for low-income individuals — as required by the U.S. Housing & Urban Development Department for recipients of the funding — the city fraudulently received the funds.

And, why should minorities receive preferential consideration over anyone else? Isn't that considered racist?
I didn't realize horse Shoes were so popular. Must be a cultural thing ...
So no minorities worked on the construction of the casino???
The general contractor on the job got waivers stating they couldn't find any minority contractors happens all the time.
Gee, the mayor of Baltimore just keeps stepping into deep you know what doesn't she?
O'Malley's house of cards begins to sway in the breeze.
No Minority can handle a job that big. Also, when you have to get minority participation, there are Companies you go thru that are for billing purposes only, that do not do the actual work.
