WORCESTER COUNTY: CHRISTMAS TREE DROP OFF SITES

The Solid Waste Division of Worcester County will host its annual collection of Christmas trees through Jan. 15, 2016. Trees can be dropped off at the Central Landfill in Newark and the Berlin, Pocomoke and Snow Hill Homeowners Convenience Centers at no cost to area residents only.

“Despite the future closing of the Berlin HOCC for yard waste on January 1,” we will still be providing containers at that site and the Pocomoke HOCC for Christmas Tree Recycling,” Public Works Director John Tustin said. “Citizens may bring their trees to the HOCC for disposal until Jan. 15.”

Snow Hill area residents may dispose of their trees at the Central Landfill. Businesses and organizations that sold trees will not be permitted to drop off trees at the convenience centers, but may take them to the Central Landfill where applicable tipping fees will be assessed.

The trees will be ground into mulch for use at the Central Landfill. Remember, you can make a difference by recycling!

Or you can give them to those people who are collecting them for wildlife habitat.
