Sorry, previous posters, as a licensed and insured contractor, these low lives are underbidding, scamming, and ripping you off every day. Lots of my work is fixing their previous work. It's nice to know that at least Worcester is going after these guys, but unfortunately, our Wicomico won't bother with it. Neither will most places, as there is no money in collecting from thieves who are broke all the time.
Hire a licensed contractor and you are protected legally and monetarilly from scammers. Ask for their Maryland Home Improvement Contractor's license number. Check it at the DLLR site and you are protected.
buyer beware. you get what you pay for. a lot of people around here pick up a hammer or a wrench and think that makes them a carpenter or a plumber. we have remodeled just about every inch of this house at one time or another. most of the time we used the same guy, but a couple of times we had to use other people. they talk a good game and are even nice persons but if you don't watch them like a hawk you get less than perfect results.
I don't like watching over anyone's shoulder and I don't want anyone looking over mine and who even has time to do that. Some just want your money and praise while you probably could have done it better yourself.
And then you have the ones who think they are so good they can charge as much as they want and you are lucky to have them.
We were lucky to find a great all around worker and his contacts. But you really have to watch out for the shysters.

He also owns Fat Fish in West OC. Hearing there may be more news to come out about this.

Do they plan to arrest the other 150 un licensed contractors? I can get them a list together with names and addresses.
