The preliminary investigation revealed the incident occurred around 3:29 p.m. today, Thursday, November 05, 2015, as Jami Baker, 22 of Laurel, was operating a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero eastbound on Shiloh Church Road in the area of Chipsmans Pond Road directly behind the school bus. Pamela Johnson, 53 of Laurel, was operating a 2006 Blue Bird school bus and was stopped at the stop sign facing eastbound. The Alero failed to stop and struck the rear of the bus with the front bumper.
Jami Baker was treated and released at the scene with minor injuries. She was cited for Following to Closely.
The bus driver, Pamela Johnson, and six students on board the bus were uninjured in the collision.

Why aren't school buses required to have ICC bars? Any harder hit looks like this accident could have been a decapitation.
Is it just me or does there seem to be an increase in school bus crashes all around the country?
Did you ever notice that there are a lot of school bus accidents in Delaware? What's up with those drivers?
That light on top is too hard to see. Those big yellow buses with reflective tape all over them and fdistracting flashing lights of different colors are almost invisible when driving by a yellow pipe bollard or intersection sign. and those flashing lights on top? How can you even see them when you're driving under the rear end of the bus????

Do you all read the person rear ending the bus was at fault. Perhaps she was text messaging?
My experience with Laurel school buses are they are phenomenal with being courteous to other drivers. When I used to drive through Laurel to go to work, they would ALWAYS pull over to let you pass, even if you were the only person behind them.
Wicomico rarely pulls over to let drivers pass even if there is a string of cars behind them.
