‘Gay’ Rape in Military Under-reported By Pentagon

Far more military men are being raped by other men than is reported by the Pentagon because of the stigma attached to such sexual assaults, says a new study published by the American Psychological Association.

“Rates of military sexual trauma among men who served in the military may be as much as 15 times higher than has been previously reported, largely because of barriers associated with stigma, beliefs in myths about male rape, and feelings of helplessness,” the APA said in releasing the findings Tuesday.

The Defense Department issues a biannual report on sexual assaults. Based on Internet emailed surveys it found that more men than women, in pure numbers, are sexually assault victims. Women make up about 14.5 percent of the 1.4 million active force.

“Male veterans who reported being sexually assaulted while serving their country suffered more severe symptoms of PTSD and depression, had higher rates of suicidal thoughts and were more likely to enroll in outpatient mental health treatment than those who were not assaulted,” the researchers found.

In 2013, the Pentagon reported that in just one year, 26,000 service members were the victims of sexual assaults, 14,000 of them men.

If the study’s findings are based on one year, the true number for military men may be 210,000 sexual assaults per year.

Rape is never about sexuality or sexual urge. It is about forcing power over someone else, whether it is a man forcing himself on a woman, a man on a man, an adult on a child, or the rare case of a woman on a man. Animals, too.

It is wrong, period. No one and no thing should be forced to have sex when he/she/it cannot or will not consent to it.

Very predictable. What I have seen of homosexuals is that they are very self-centered, and of late, very bold.
Dropping the ban on homosexuality in the military officially validated their behavior.
As 6:01 pointed out, they will tend to flaunt it and force it upon others as a result.

Exactly. How can anyone who has any decency (you people who call yourself oh so righteous Christians?) argue with that?

Nobody deserves to have sexual behavior physically imposed on them. You don't like someone else's sexual behavior? Not your concern.

Wouldn't be an issue if you and yours didn't vote the silly I LOVE GAY politicians into office. I don't feel a bit sorry for them.

This has always gone on, regardless of who is in office.
